Very interesting! Would like to learn more.

Some of what I learned:

Polyethylene glycol is used to treat occasional constipation. Polyethylene glycol 3350 is in a class of medications called osmotic laxatives. It works by causing water to be retained with the stool. This increases the number of bowel movements and softens the stool so it is easier to pass.Mar 15, 2016

So what you end up with is a non constipated cookie  .
BTW , the PEG that we buy comes from the states ( quite pricey too ) and comes in plastic jugs looking much like powdered laundry soap that has gotten damp and clumped. We then dissolve it in water to make the solution .
When in the vat you have to make sure that the cookies have small spacers under and over so the solution gets everywhere evenly . A bit of a trick but can be done as they want to float . We used small pcs of abs construction board for spacers. If you get the wrong material in there it will stain and mark the cookies. Not what fussy clients want. Not many people can afford to have this done but the ones that can know exactly what they want.
Just an FYI .

Any PEG I've been around, you heated the container of PEG to 140* and then put the wood in there, maintaining the 140* for a time and yes, the PEG was expensive, but I forget how expensive.

I cut some more up into rounds for firewood today. Lately I’ve been trying to use up some old oil so I blend a little bit in with the bar oil. I’m guessing this quart bottle of Penzoil is over 25 years old.

What chains do you prefer? It would be primarily for snow plowing etc. But I could use them if I ever get the chance to use the winch in summer as well.
