That is the conundrum - tractor + wheels is 6" wider than the width of the rails on my trailer.

I had the wheels measured to see if we can flip them around and by the time we do that it only looks like we'll gain an inch or so - not enough.

So the next option is to take the wheels off. The obvious question, there, is - what to set it on that can roll and get up the ramps?

I am thinking some kind of vehicle dolly set. However, as small as those wheels are they will likely be a problem with the uneven'ness of the ramp etc. I can put boards down to make them easier to roll.

For discussion's sake - this is a one-time move to get the machine here.

What tractor won't go in narrower than 80"? I have a 100 HP JD that will go in to 65"

Old International 444. Not sure on year. It does not have shaft/clamp style axles that can bring the hubs in close. The hubs are right at the ends of the differential housing and the wheels bolt directly to the hub with no spacers. So the only hope was to reverse the wheel dishing by swapping the wheels around or flipping backwards. As I already mentioned - they were measured and it does not look like we can get the necessary offset we need by doing that to make it worth trying.

Heres a wild thought - make a hub adapter that will let me bolt smaller trailer wheels/tires to it. It doesn't have to be pretty, just work well enough to make the trip.

Is renting another trailer or hiring someone to move this once an option vs trying to jury rig something and risk injury to you or your tractor?

The center disc can be turn in or out to adjust the width too. Also, the wheel to disc have an inner and outer position.

The load does not need to be directly over the rails, unless you're trying to severely overload the trailer. Or are we talking about a trailer where the main rails are also the outside rails of the trailer? As in, the tractor is wider than the trailer deck?

Landscaping trailer with side rails, it isnt a deck with open overhang. The side rails are 14" above the deck.

IIRC My 56HP Ford TLB wont go any narrower than 87" (11.00-16 tires on the front axle) had to get a flat bed trailer to move it. My 55HP Rhino only clears my utility trailer by 2" on a side. Flat deck trailers do have advantages over railed trailers.

I think this is the PO's best option for a short haul across town. Across the state, I would buy the proper trailer and then sell it when done.
