got a weeping willow tree in my back yard, about 52" at base , about 4 ft. up it branches into 4 main limbs about 18 to 24 " dia. from there it sperads out into numerous othe limbs , tree is about 40 to 50 ft tall, and the dirtiest damm tree u ever saw /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif, getting tired of raking it every spring and even during the summer the least bit of wind creates a mess. to hard for me to take down, but got a price today from a guy to cut it down and remove all the debris and wood. what do u guys think would be a fair price? the fellow is starting his own businnes, he has worked for other guys doing the same type of work, he is insured and has the equipt. to do it. will post his price after u guys give me your opinion. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Anything under a $1000 I'd tell him to warm up his chainsaw (assuming he has insurance!!!) /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Frank,

My neighbor just had a couple dozen large 15 to maybe 30
inch pines taken out of his yard. This on .20 acre size lots.
They where there for a good four days with a large JD back
hoe, skid steer and a couple of decent size medium duty
trucks and 2-3 men. I think it cost him $3,300 for the job.
My neighbor got three bids and the one he took was in the
middle price wise.

The company that got the jobs has a portable saw mill and
they where getting the trees which had a decent value.

My neighbor started the stump grinding this weekend. Seems
to be taking a while. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Make sure the guy you hire has insurance....

Dan

Surely sounds like this fellow was paying money to take good lumber trees away.

I had two 30’ plus trees remove last month that cost $500 including grinding the stumps. They removed all of the trees. But I had to remove the excess from the stump grinding.
I had prices that ranged up to $900. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
I have attached a picture of the trees.

That's a really big willow. I wonder if someone would want the wood to make furniture? I also wonder if someone would buy tree from you, like a landscaper. Probably not, but might be worth a phone call.

I had a 60 foot tall x 20: diameter oak removed two years ago. It was dead and too close to house for me to feel good about felling. I had them leave wood where it fell, cut into lengths, for me to dispose of. Cost about 250 - 275 dollars if memory is correct. But that was two years ago and in a different state from you.

frank; I'm with Gerard, anything under $1,000.00 sounds good. That should be for a complete job, including stump grinding. I used to occasionally clean-up for an arborist, taking the firewood away (free), and I think he would have chaged around $600.00 for a job like that 8-10 years ago.

If removal requires climbing or a bucket truck - $1000. This should cover complete removal - including the stump. If you can handle the stump and the removal and you don't need the tree taken down in sections - $500 should get it on the ground and bucked up into 8' lengths.

I have folks wanting to pay me for trees around my house. they all want my hardwoods . i don't cut my oaks and hickory.
i have burnt probably $2500 dollars worth of pine that the previous owner just let die . i have cut about 15 down and many others were all ready on the ground.
I can only pile them up and burn them.

i guess i can understand the insurance cost to cut so close to a home . but what would they charge just to fell them and you clean up?
