I just got done replacing the cylinder head gasket on my 1050. I had the head resurfaced. I am now having problems getting the tractor to turn off. Before working on it, I would turn the key to the off position and turn the throttle all the way down and it would stop. Now I have to mess with it for a while in order to get it to turn off. Any suggestions? Is the engine suppose to turn off when you turn the key off? This is a 3-cylinder diesel.

You turn it off with the throttle.Make sure the foot throttle isn't sticking. If you have to,adjust the linkage. If you don't turn off the key,the battery will run down.

I had a problem with my JD750 not shutting off. It turned out to be the foot throttle sticking, which prevents turning the throttle all the way down.
