I need new tires for my 02 F150. I found the Uniroyal Liberator All Terrain at Wal-Mart. For $350 they will install these tires w/ the warranty. I'm not real keen on letting Wal-Mart mess w/ my truck and I do not know much about these tires. The tires are supposed to have a 50k mile warranty and I've seen them on several trucks. Do you guys have or know anything about them? Have any of you guys used Wal-Mart Tire Center before? How did that go over? Thanks in advance for the input.

My neighbor runs them on his Excursion in the 285/65-16LT size. He is very happy with them and usually gets new ones at around 60K, still enough tread left to pass inspection. They make a little road noise but not to bad.

I usually remove my wheels/tires from the vehicle and take them to be mounted, no chance for vehicle damage that way and they normally give me a break on the price for just mounting and balancing the tires. I drop them off in the morning and pick them up on the way home from work.

these are really great tires for the price, they wear well, they are cheap, and I haven't had the problem in the past w/ the noise issue, they may be a little tougher to balance but I think that walmart also does free rotation and balance for the life of the tires for 25 dollars or so, I really don't think you could go wrong, I have used them in the past on a couple of vehicles, I have a 3/4 ton now though so I haven't used them in a while

One thing to remember about tires from Wal-mart or Sams. Many times the models are specificly made for them. So if you have warranty problems, you can only go back to Wal-mart to get it resolved. And guess what, you can only buy new tires from them if you want your tires warranted that are having problems.

A while back I bought an expensive set of Michelin's for my little compact car, rated for 5 years unlimited mileage, at Sams. They lasted 19,000 miles. To warranty them I had to go to Sams and buy replacements there. Never again. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

I had some Tiger Paw's (I think they were Uniroyal) on a Chevy S-10 and those thinks were next to worthless. On dry pavement, everytime you go to take off they would break traction regardless of whether you tried easy or not. It was so bad they if I kicked it down hard it would burn run and chirp the tires again when it hit 2nd gear and that was in an automatic. As far as tires, I think I'm staying with Michilens. I've had them on my AWD Explorer and they have worn great while giving awesome traction in snow, rain and dry.
Good luck

I got a set of Toyo tires a few years ago at the insistance of my buddy who owns a tire shop. I had been having some trouble with the last few sets of Goodyears I had bought so he said just try these Toyo's. I reluctantly said ok, they have been the best tires I have ever owned. These things are bulletproof. I have since put them on every vehicle I own. They are always good for 60k miles per set and are the smoothest riding tires ever. I'll never buy anything else.
