Box Scraper United 566HD Heavy Duty Tractor Box Blade

I have a Kubota B3300SU & I'm planning on purchasing a box blade. Not much out there that's decent and used so I'm really looking seriously at this:

United 566HD Heavy Duty Tractor Box Blade 66"

Looks like a well built piece of equipment, I think it's matched well for the size of my tractor & is a decent price/value.

Opinions are welcome!

They are good box blades. Ted from Everything Attachments used one for years at his home until he started
manufacturing HD ones himself. He has a video showing how to use a BB using a United BB.

One warning - if you ever decide you have enough implements (or get tired of getting on/off all the time to change them) and want a quick hitch, that scraper will need to be modified to be compatible.

I've been going thru this with several older implements, and even with gas, stick, and wire welders, plasma and dozens of other "implements of destruction", it's been somewhat of a challenge. I'm getting "mature" enough that I consider it worth the effort; you may not.

Just a heads up - other than that, it looks pretty sturdy... Steve

I used a 5ft united box blade for over 5 years on a 2615 mahindra without a problem. I also used a harbor frieght quick hitch with the top adaptor and it worked great

I have a backhoe on all the time now & don't have any 3 ph attachments so the box blade will be the only one for the foreseeable future so I'm not sure how much the quick attach compatibility issue is or will be. Would the EA 66" mitigate that problem!

"Would the EA 66" mitigate that problem!" - yes. look at the toplink area - it's open UNDER where the pin goes. The quick hitches have a large hook that rises up under the toplink pin, so the area BENEATH the pin needs to be open for them to work right.

Darmstrong2319 brings up a valid point - there's always a way around a problem - personally, I'd rather modifiy the implement (if necessary) ONCE than swing those two flat bars into place and manually insert a toplink pin EVERY time (especially the part about getting on and off the tractor a dozen extra times in a day)

Your situation may be totally different - I have a 3-bottom plow, 8' disk, 7 foot Gannon scraper, 6 foot flail, 6 foot tiller, 6 foot back blade, and am planning a couple other 3point implements and am getting too old and crotchety to wanna do everything the hard/slow way. (Besides, I'm always looking for excuses to use some of my newer "toys", and enjoy "solving problems", whether they are real or imagined :ashamed: )

The way you handle this is obviously up to you and YOUR preferences - we're all just trying to help you make a decision that works for YOU... Steve

Thanks to everyone for the feedback so far - this is such a great forum to tap into the wisdom of others! Recognizing that the United Box Blade isn't Quick Hitch compatible & will in all likelihood be my only 3 point attachment (at least for the foreseeable future) would I be further ahead to purchase the EA 66" blade that's compatible with QA even though it's lighter whether or not I actually pursue the QA coupler? is the $100 Harbor Freight or Ruralking.com coupler worth while or would I have to spend $250 for a Speeco just to make the EA blade QA? I may someday in the future pursue a logging winch and a chipper. Does that change things? Would the QA Box Blade then be more attractive? The EA blade appear to be about 28# lighter and $64 more expensive. The price difference isn't a deal breaker but if I need to then add a QA coupler the price starts adding up. Thanks again for all your advice - truly appreciated!

If you only PLAN on having 1 attachment (of course plans and reality aren't usually the same, for me at least) then the QH compatibility is a non issue. It would be more work to attach the QH adapter then the implement, than just attaching the implement. This is of course assuming you are saying you have a sub-frame backhoe, if you have a 3-point backhoe then that is something else. Not sure if it is a good idea to use a 3-point backhoe with a QH adapter, I don't have either.

My BH77 backhoe has a sub frame. I haven't even removed the BH yet but I only got the tractor in October. I anticipate having the BH on anytime I don't have a need for the BB which I think I'd likely use a couple times a year to level out my driveway & for the occasional project on my land. Just not sure if a lighter QH BB is a better value than the United BB if my "need" for a QH is not clear as I won't but using any tilling/mowing implements on the 3 PH. As I mentioned, if $$ were no object, I'd love to have a chipper & a winch for the 3 PH but I haven't done enough research to know if the QA issue exists for them too!
