Up graded tractor, Should I also get a new trailer?

I have a 16ft tandom with out brakes, I was just hauling a BX23 with MMM, and it towed good. I just got a great deal on a B3200 TLB package from Barlows, and from photos you see it just fits on the trailer. Towed it up to my Brothers Thursday, and I could tell I was towing something this time. Getting out of my Yard truck spun out some in gravel pulling onto the road, and enroute it tried to fishtail a little, but not much. I think I need to up grade to a 18ft tandom with brakes, what do yall think, or can I get by, I don't travel much with tractors, or just keep hauling the BX23 for further trips, and only us B3200 my house and brothers, (only 7 miles). I use chains on Loader and back hoe, and all four corners of tractors.
You need brakes on all 4 wheels even for hauling the BX23.
With no brakes yo can't get by.
I Think you are under rigged ~ both trailer and truck .

Looks fine to me.

If the trailer you have has at least one brake axle, I would keep it and spend the money elsewhere. As you stated you aren't hauling it often or far. If it doesn't have brakes then I would definitely upgrade. From the sounds of things you might need a bigger truck, not trailer.

To those who say you need upwards of a 24' 14K trailer, I think that is way overboard unless you know you will be getting a larger (much larger) tractor in the future. The setup you have probably weighs under 4K, a B26 weighs about 4k even, and it is got a heavier hoe and loader. B-series are really pretty small tractors, I've hauled mine in the bed of my F-250 before (without any implements of course)

The trailer I haul mine on is an 18' lowboy, 8k rating with two brake axles. I find it to be long enough even when hauling something long like the tractor/loader w/ bush hog. I haul mine almost weekly though, sometimes up to 70mi one way.

Lots of opinions on what to do. All depends on wallet, needs, etc. Having been bitten by the Too Short Trailer Syndrome myself, I say go big enough to make it work well. But that is only if you need it or will need it. Part of the issue is you run into what is commonly available. Once you start getting 20' and up, they will more commonly be 12k or 14k trailers, from what I see. If you get one built to spec, you can get what you want, of course.

The OP said the trailer has no brakes as is.

Reading on the ROPS Gross Machine Weight is listed as 3580, and I am sure Kubota would take into acount most configurations, TLB etc, for caulacting this number. So weight is not an issue, even for current truck or trailer. But length is, and getting proper toung weight, with every thing with in trailer(no overhang). I will be looking for something. I see adds in Tractor House for package deals, and you see a tractor with bush hog hanging over end of even a 18 ft trailer by two feet. You know I am from Louisiana, so I think we have that Redneck thing going for us and this overhang. I have thought of a way to make it shorter though, I have the Kubota quick atach system on the loader, and I can put the FEL bucket in the pickup bed, and just have the receiver on the tractor in the trailer.

I hope yall know I am just kidding around here, I hope to upgrade the trailer soon, and I will only bring the B3200 back from my brothers if I can't get my cousin to come over with his thee axel unit behine his CK 2500.

But for hauling the BX23 this set up is fine, and OK as far as I can tell.

I hauled my old B8200, same size and weight, with a 16' 7000lb trailer. Worked fine. I have brakes on one axle. I want to update brakes to both axles. I have had to make defensive stops a couple times. It was fine, but I would still like to have the extra brakes.

I haul my trator w/FEL on 14' 7000# trailer up & down the hill in TN with 1500 Silverado, no problem. But I back tractor on and trailer does have brakes.

Whether you get a larger trailer or use this one, I think you will find it will tow better with tractor backed on.

I think your set up will be fine with a longer trailer and brakes. It's OK as is, if you upgrade to brakes on this one.

If you see a L3700 in your future, I don't really think you need to upgrade your truck, but just the trailer. A good balance may be a 18 - 20 ft 10K lbs trailer with your current truck (depending on GCWR and towing ratings). If you upgrade to the premium L series TLB, you will likely be beyond capacity of your truck and possibly upgraded trailer too.

BTW - I have to commend you on the tractor anchoring. I see a lot of folks chain down their equipment around here, but rarely see them do it the right way with four seperate corners, and one on each implement.

Plus what if I want to up grade again to a L3700 TLB, As I have a line on one of them, that will be avable with in a year or two, from a friend.

I get first shot! I'm closer! :D;)
