I've a part ordered from Florida which I needed 2 days ago.

The vendor shipped it USPS 3 day priority, to the address in Fulton, MS.

USPS confirmed the correct address in an email.

USPS reports it is now out for delivery.

That's approximately 700 miles away.

Wonder how long it will take?

Unless it is shipped 1 day priority, there is no penalty to the USPS for late deliveries. Been there done that. Overall the USPS is actually pretty amazing if you look at how many pieces are moved each day. But because of that, sadly many times 2 & 3 day shipments don't make it in the proper time frame. :(

Just my experience. ;)

Proper time frame?
How about at least the proper STATE?

I realize they both start with the letters M and i but the USPS sent me an email with the CORRECT address and no mention of Michigan.

I quit using both UPS and FedEx years ago. Both companies performance was no better than the regular postal service (Canadian and US) and they charged much more for "non service.

FWIW UPS and FedEx can cease to do business tomorrow and I wouldn't give them the time of day.

IMHO both Canadian Post Office and US Post Office do a much superior job of moving more mail for a fraction of what the courier companies charge.

Thanks - a very disgruntled permanent ex UPS and FedEx customer.

I ship a lot of stuff via the USPS, many thousands of packages in last few years. They have only lost one so far for me, some have been delayed a few days but like I wrote only one completely lost and they did pay the claim after a month or so. Now, the tracking info is the worst in the business, very unreliable and often just wrong. I hear that they are improving it, but time will tell if they can.

I have had packages shipped both UPS and USPS and they have traveled thousands of miles out of the way because of poor handling. I have sent USPS packages to Alaska on Saturday and the customer had it on Monday and that was std flat rate box shipping. I have mailed 26 miles and it took 4 days for the first class envelope to get there. You just can never tell. :confused2:

I have had UPS take five weeks to telephone me to say the package is ready to be delivered for an additional payment $120 fee - after paying for three day service. This has happened more than a few times. Same can be said for FedEx as well.
I will never again use those two companies. The US and Canadian postal services do better or as well, for about 1/4 of the cost. The postal services also have much better customer service IMHO.

"Departed usps facility" does not mean "out for delivery." It just means it is leaving one of it's stops along the way. As far as the long wait, I don't have an answer. They all suck, but my experience has been that usps is the fastest/ most reliable... but as mentioned before the tracking is very far behind real-time.

I have to agree- most of the things i order on ebay that are shipped via usps arrive quicker than ups or fed ex, and the economy shipping charges are usually less than 1/2 the price of the other 2. my :2cents:

USPS has been pretty good here also. If you ordered it 2 days ago with 3 day Priority you might get it today. If not today then probably Monday. I've had many items shipped from Calif. on Monday and rec'd here in NY by Fri.
