I've looked around quite a bit to see if something off the shelf is out there, but these mowers are old enough nobody makes parts for them anymore I guess. There used to be a couple options through Sears (Craftsman Load'N Go 610.24411 and Ohio Steel Utility Deck 610.24366) but those haven't been made in years. I've seen lots of projects where people weld something up which is great, but these things are not meant for 1/4" plate projects...just too heavy. I founds some pictures of those 2 kits so was considering making my own out of 10ga sheet using a plasma cutter and welder but thought I'd ask if anyone has a suggestion. My main goal is to be able to put a 15 gallon sprayer on the back rather than dealing with a trailer style. It would be nice to be able to carry other small things in it, but I have a 30HP compact tractor for bigger tasks so 150# is probably the max I'd even consider needing back there.

Pictures were saved from a few years back so not sure of the source anymore.

Great little lawn tractor the LT1000, put a V twin in mine, in fact the second one.
Facebook has a user group, I think, that you may want to check out.

I'm on my 2nd now. The first was a really nice 17HP single cylinder. Main problem was it kept blowing the head gasket (every 2 or 3 seasons it would get bad enough I'd have to fix again). The current one has an opposed twin which has tons of power. It has a "feature" where after running for a while if i stop the engine it won't run until it cools off. Once i get that sorted it'll be pretty awesome! Electrolux did an awesome jobe on them for sure.

I converted a bagger frame for a person to hold their sprayer. Worked pretty well if you have one.

That is a dumb place to put a utility rack. It's more like a cargo hitch carrier on vehicles. At least on vehicles, they don't spray gravel, grass or water onto the items carried like the LT1000 would do.

Those fat rear tires pick up all kinds of things and spit them out the back.

Why not mount bar for the back and place a true carry all there?
I had a black wire mesh carry-all basket mounted to the bar.
The DYT series was just before the LT series.

I have one of the 3 bag units i considered modifying but it's hollow tube and seemed like it would be way to flexible/bouncy. I font use that bagger system so it's one option for being a donor starting point.

I was initially concerned that the lower mounted carry all would result in the spray bar being too close to the ground. I've seen other designs (including professional) do it that way so assumed it was ok. This tractor is actually a DLT so slightly newer than the LT1000 but only by a couple years. It doesn't have that bar to mount to, but since the fuel tank is under the seat I wouldn't want to obstruct easy access. Does that bar mount to the seat holes?

Mine has a study grill guard that a couple of U clamps could be used to attach a bracket or basket.

I have a guard on the front but if i were spraying id rather have that behind me. Seems like that would be fine for carrying things. Though i would be a little concerned about too much weight on the front steering components vs a more robust rear axle.
