I've got the HF catII QH and yes I've had to modify some of my attachements. Some minor (box blade), some middle (woodmax chipper and 6ft. rotary mower). But nothing major. The only impliment that I haven't figure out how modify for the QH and this will hold true for "most" QHs is the PHD. That one will take a major redesign and it's not worth it for the few times I need it.

How much is the Land Pride hitch and how would you say it compares with the HF hitch? I''m not far from a HF and can go in and look.
Also, someone mentioned HF and a cat II hitch. Do they make a cat II or was that a typo?

HF has a CAT 2 hitch that shows up from time to time but not always available. Saw a number for it on anther thread. Will try to find it.

I have a Speeco Cat 1 QH. It is well made. It's width is on the narrow end of the CAT1 spec. I also have a Landpride RBT3584 rear blade, which might be on the wide end of the spec. When used together they are a force fit, and then usually a bit of pounding is required to get the Landpride to drop when disconnecting. Therefore I recommend measuring your implements and the QH carefully before buying. My tractor has telescoping 3 pt arms, and because of that and one other thing, I've found that the QH saves me some effort, but does not really save much (if any) time. The "other thing" is that I have a backhoe, and if I want to switch from the hoe to something like a rear-blade, in addition to reattaching the 3pt hitch, I also have to attach the QH, so that's one more thing to do and sort wipes out the time-savings. Gets better when only switching between 3 pt attachments. Some rainy day I will do some grinding on the Landpride and try to get a bit of clearance. Or at least a bit of angled lead-in.

How close do these measurements have to be and what numbers am I looking for? What type of clearance?

Here's the Harbor Freight hitch. It's on sale for $99.99 and a 25% off coupon would take it to $75.00.

sixdogs, I hope you don't choke on this, but I paid $375 + sales tax for my LandPride QH (Category I). WOW!!!! Plus it seemed necessary to me to get another PTO to fit the tiller since it extended the shaft length.....and that was another $200 bucks........but wait......there's more@#%^&*...Various "spacers" of different lengths are needed to make a snug fit on the Cat I (7/8") pins of the implements that I use it on....The LP spacers needed probably added up to another $80 buck.

Uncheers,
Mike

I think the Land pride retails for $450. It is very similar to the John Deere imatch. The imatch retails for $350.

I started out with a HF QH. I got it for the BX because adjusting the turnbuckles on every implement change is a pain. I liked it so well that I wanted to get a QH for the 4240. I wanted something that was nicer and better built. I got a good deal on a new imatch V2 (adjsutable top hook). Not to long ago I ran onto a imatch V1 (fixed top hook) on craigslist. So now I have the imatch V1 on the 4240 and imatch V2 on the BX. The imatch with the fixed top hook works the best. You have better visibility with the imatch over the HF QH. The Speeco's I have seen at TSC are the about the same quality as the HF QH.

Here is a video I made showing the differences between the Imatch and the HF QH.

sixdogs,
A new IMatch cat1 is about 300 plus tax, bushings to put on the implements can cost about $35/implement on average. Some implements require welding and modifying to work with the IMatch. In my opinion it is well worth the trouble. I have two of them now and may buy a third for my 110. Most implements can be dropped and a second one hitched up in a minute or two from the tractor seat. On some such as a rear blade I have to get off the tractor to set a jack stand, others I have to attach the pto shaft but none require prying or beating on to hitch up. Those days are over thank goodness.
