I have a JD 4500 and have been looking for a used model 48 backhoe. Has anyone used a 48 on the 4500 model JD? If so, how did it perform?
Has anyone used a round baler 4x4 with a 4500? I'm told that I need a 50hp to operate a round baler properly.
I wish I knew!!!! I just helped my friend sell his! Remember my friend that had his Tractor Burn to the ground because of an electrical fire? Well, he had his Model 48 Backhoe that was now useless to him.. (The Backhoe wasn't in the fire) and (Hoe was in Great Shape Looks New) It was useless to him because his inusrance is giving him money towards a JD110. But he is waiting til' next year, because he is kept being told by his dealership that the 110 will be available with a JD Factory Cab.... We'll see..
Ok, I have found one for sale that is very well used (Commercially for at least 3 years) but the price is reasonable. I know that pins and bushings can be bought to rebuild it if you want something that is very well used.
I have a 48 on a JD4600. Love it. I had a 4500 and wanted a backhoe. I looked around for a good while and could not find a used 48. I found the 4600 with a 460 loader and 48 hoe. The owner would not sell the hoe seperate so I bought the 4600 and sold my 4500. Two years and two hurricanes later no problems with the 48.
I have a customer that is selling his 448 backhoe off his 4120 JD. Everything is a str8 over hookup. All that is needed is a power beyond kit. It has about 3 months use on it. He is getting an excavator and doesn't need the hoe any longer. He wants $6000. He is located in Northern California.
