Warmest Boots, which are best?

The only thing that I will add is to make sure you buy them big enough for the heaviest socks you plan to wear and still have extra space so you feet arent cramped (ie can breathe)..

I got some 800 gram thinsulate Lacrosse boots - but they are a snug fit with heavy wool socks and dont allow air space for insulation..

If you can still find a pair, I found that the military surplus snowshoe boots to be the warmest,
They are cotton or nylon uppers, deep thread rubber lowers and thick felt liners that sit atop of about 5/8" of mesh like insulation.
The mesh base keeps the foot away from the cold underfoot and often when you take them off you find frost clinging to the mesh.
The frost is actually sweat that froze underfoot.

Many snowmobile boots attempt to copy the military arctic boot.
Almost.
They fall short on felt thickness and lack the frost shields that go under the felt boot.

i also have a pair of lacrosse iceman's,the are made for standing on ice .they have a thick soul that keeps you away from cold surface.it is all insulation.i had sorrels all my life but these blows sorrels away,never get cold feet.i hunt deer in Wisconsin in winter,also ice fish. if you have a problem with cold feet these and wool socks are the answer.

I have a pair of icemans. I love them.

I also have Lacrosse boots. Have sat outside all day during hunting season and had warm feet. Also use them plowing snow with the tractor.

As you can see in the picture, they look like Herman Munster boots.:laughing:

I bought another this fall. They're good for working. Also have a set of muck boots - not as warm, but durable and still waterproof after 5 yrs.

Definitely Sorel with felt liners!!! Feet stay dry and toasty and my feet are usually aleays cold!!

Got my new Muck boots and boy they are a lot better than my old ones, I can walk for ever in them! Then I got the new Ski-Doo boots and they are even better, they have vents on them, so if they get too warm you can vent them which is very nice! But if I see a pair of sorels I will buy them. New Muck boots $70 new Ski-Doo Helium boots with vents on a sale with coupon for $165
