If you have the time I would move the vice out to the edge of the mounting/ aka as close as possible/ in both directions, maybe only one direction. Right now you cannot clamp a long vertical piece because it will probably hit the side of the trailer. Remove the 1 and or 2 stake pockets that would interfere below. Just a suggestion. Nice setup though.
The one directly under the jaws, I'm going to cut off when I get my cutting torch out next time.

It's not really in the way much, but I want to have better access to tighten.

The vise is a swivel type vise, so if needed, I can swivel it to accommodate odd lengths. If I get closer to the edge it would be drilling and mounting through the top rail of the trailer.

What about theft? A person could unscrew the swivel knobs and take the vise.

If they do, they are coming through my electronic ranch security gate, driving nearly 1/2 mile up my driveway with security cameras, and facing me when they get to the HQ here.

Might be easier for them to quickly hook onto my welding trailer in that barn and see if they can get to the front gate again faster than 3240fps.

Seriously though, I don't leave my welding trailer where anyone has access to it.

I went with a hitch mount vice
I did this too, but for mounting in the receiver tube in a SSQA to 3PT adapter plate I have, or in the receiver tube in my ballast. This way I can move the vice around under power, letting it do all sorts of new things.

I've been excited about how clever this idea is.

However, I did this a year and a half ago, and have yet to actually use it....

Being a service truck for a fleet mine gets used on the regular.
Also I positioned all the strobes so none flash in my line of sight from the cab.
