Been using Seafoam GDI top end engine cleaner right along but I see there are others out there like CRC for instance. The issue with the newer GDI (gasoline direct injection) engines is, the intake tract is basically devoid of and gasoline (dry), so the intake valves receive no detergent in gasoline) cleaning as you drive and they carbon up and it eventually causes engine driveability issues and decreased performance.
I use the Seafoam GDI engine cleaner every oil, change. Keeps everything tidy and clean inside, at least I think it does. All I know is, the engines purr and the fuel mileage is excellent.
