Oh, and by the way, "THE GUY" did a nut and bolt restoration on it, so I dont think he has any regrets!

I have been around and worked on more N’s and owned more tractors than most folks here.
What I think of an 8N isn’t relevant and probably wouldn’t interest you anyway.
It was meant as a humorous comment.

I learned to drive a tractor at age 7. It was an 8N. I thought it was the greatest tractor ever built.
At age 8 my Dad bought a new 641. My opinion of the revered 8N instantly changed. And has never went back. A historic fondness for the 8N still lives in me. If someone asks me about purchasing an 8N I instantly respond with a lengthy list of all the shortfalls of them....

Don't sell the little fellers short,I would be tempted to chose the N over today's 20-25 hp offerings if the N had a Sherman,power steering and live/independent pto. A hundred series so equipped would be a slam dunk.
