I'm leaning toward the MX5100 for purchase in the near future. I will eventually want a grapple -- and it looks like the most common opinion here is to go with the WR Long one -- and not the factory Kubota for the 3rd loader function.

I may eventually want a sickle, or other equipment that may need a rear hydraulic. On the "Build my Kubota" site, there are 3 options for remote hydraulic valves. However, I'm not sure what the differences here really are, and whether double acting or float detent is what I would want. Maybe hard to say -- as I don't currently have any implements.

Is it best to order one of these valve options now -- when buying the tractor new?
Or should I just not worry about any of it now, and have them add a rear hydraulic when I have them install the WR Long for the front, in the future? Or wait to see if I ever really even need a rear hydraulic, and add that completely separately if needed?

I just don't want to make a stupid mistake that I end up regretting later regarding hydraulics.

They did not offer a factory 3rd function remote when I got mine?? Did that change?
I got the WR LONG and installed it myself. It was very easy and work great.

I did get one remote but wish I had gotten the second with float

You will love the MX5100... I got the 4x4 with HST

Get the rear tires filled. Otherwise the rear is way to light.

Maybe I'm wrong about that. There were some threads about problems with Kubota hydraulics with grapple, recommending the WR Long one, so I figured Kubota must offer one.

One of the handiest things I have on my 5030 is the hydraulic top link. I bought the tractor used with one rear remote. When we bought the M8540 new, I made sure it had two. It should be cheaper to have it included in the original price.

Talk to your dealer about your planned uses and he can best advise you as to the type needed.

Kubota offers a factory third function valve, but maybe not on the MX5100 and as you mentioned, some experience problems.
