What is so special about this 100 euro grease?

Hi guys,

i was just wondering if anyone knows what is so special about this grease that it costs so much 100 euros per tube (Ended up buying one tube from the ads for 50 euros).

The manual of my tractor, Antonio Carraro requires this grease for some of the zercs.

The sellers throw a party after every tube sold

Ever notice on Amazon that a $10 item is sold for $1,000? It's still a $10 item but someone is going to pay $1,000 for it.

PTFE is a Teflon like material that is very slippery. It is used as the thickener in the grease and is considered as about the best on sliding surfaces. It is one of the new wonder materials.
Grease is made of three types of components

oil (mineral, vegetable, synthetic)
thickener (ie clay, lithium, PFTE)
additives (ie dies)

Thx mate, I hope I can afford greasing up my tractor, it is becoming as expensive as our politicians and bureaucracy.

I don't know how critical that location is. Fluorocarbon greases do not mix well with standard petroleum lubricants. If using a grease gun you should use one which has never had another grease in it. When the two types of lubricant get together they kind of form little balls and the lubricity is lower than either lubricant on its own.

Kind of reminds me of the grease I was given a tube of at Detroit Ball bearing a few years back... You can have a 'sample tube for free to try' but i's 22 bucks a tube to buy. Tube is still sitting on the shelf colleting dust. I really need to toss it.

I use a air operated bulk greaser anyway.

If you only need to lube that point every 150 hours, a tube of the special grease will last a long time. Since they recommended a different grease for every other point, I'd assume that the engineers know what they are doing and you really need the expensive stuff for this one point.
