Well, I got quotes from 3 bordering states and my local dealer. Have to pay sales tax at the local guy, but dang if he didn't beat all the other quotes. With tax it will come out a hair more ($1,000) than the next cheapest, but buying from the dealer I've been working with the last 5 years or so has to be worth something, especially since he's 10 miles away and will deilver versus me hauling it over 100 miles to bring it home.
If the feller shows up at my place with trailer and cash in hand for my JD2355 and JD709 cutter on Sunday like he is supposed to I will be getting a brand new 4120 hydro with R4's, 400x loader, and MX6 cutter next week.
This has been a tough couple of months looking with setbacks (had to get a new roof and a new furnace/ central AC in the last 30 days) and I about had myself sold on a little bigger Mahindra 5025, but I'm staying green. Might as well, we have a 625i Gator and a JD Buck ATV.
I am pulling the trigger on the 4120 JD over the Mahindra because:
2 JD dealers close to me, one 15 miles away, one 10 miles away and neither has ever let me down on a part or service.
Weight - The Mahindra was definitely heavier, but one of the reasons my current 2355 has hampered me lately is weight - hard on the lawn and I hesitate to take it several places due to it's size.
Features - My wife is going to like the Ehydro and will be more apt to use this tractor.
Dealer - 2 Mahindra guys have been good dealing with, but both are over an hour from me, too far to run down on a whim on a Saturday morning if I need something.
