What size bolt/pin for Cat 1 3pt QH top HOOK

Then today I got out of my truck and walked to a tree so I could continue my phone call in the shade. While on the phone I looked down at my feet and there was my top hook. No looking required.

If I had that kind of luck I would have went to town and bought a loto ticket.

Those holes are 1/2" on my top hook. I think bigtiller is referring to the wrench size on a 1/2" bolt head.

Thanks for the measurements. I picked up a couple hitch pins today that were half inch. They looked smaller then I remembered and I thought I would be returning them. But that is exactly what I need.

Do any of you run the bush hog without the top link connected? If so what are the pros and cons? I found that the cut was better without the top link on.

I do all the time if it’s uneven ground. If I’m cutting at the house and not reading any where, I just back up lift the Quick hitch to engage the lower lift pins then shorten the hydraulic top link all the way in. Basically works like a semi mounted cutter, but with out the hydraulically adjusted tail wheels.

I was going to reply to your message yesterday and tell you how unlikely it would be for me to find the top hook given that I have 15 acres and had run all of it with the tractor. No way would I have tried searching with a metal detector
