What to do with all this bamboo?

A local retreat used laminated bamboo floors in all their bathrooms. Was very pretty, and very durable. Didn't look like bamboo anymore. They cut the bamboo into thin strips, and laminated them into strips that end up looking like oak flooring strips (but thry're made from bamboo).

I think I've seen that flooring in a magazine. I believe it is now commerically available. They say it's as hard as hardwood.

Sorry for the delay. I have some photos for you. This first one is of the qalam pen itself. The top frame shows three of the pens on a table. The second frame shows a closeup of the point tip. The third frame shows how the pen is held in the hand.

The next message I posted has some pics of the work produced by a qalam.

Here are two examples of calligraphy, written with the qalam pen alone. Both are written in a stylized Arabic. Since Muslims do not allow representations of humans in their artwork, one sees elaborate expressions of art in their written pieces of religious text.

The first one says "There is nothing worthy of worship except God and Muhammad is His Messenger."

The second one says: "In the Name of God, Most Merciful, Most Compassionate."
