I've been reading alot for a week or so. I am near pulling the trigger on the Mahindra 6000 2wd, 6' box blade, 6'disc, and 6' cutter. Package price after $500 rebate is $15,620, without any negotiation. 4500 is $13,520 (same implements). Kubota M4900 (same package, less HP) was around $21,000.

How much wiggle room is there on the price?

I don't think I need it. 20 acres, mostly flat and sandy. Just need to bush hog weeds, disc, foodplot, take care of driveway.

I'm sure you know your needs better than anyone. If you get into sand or mud, though, you might really appreciate the 4WD. I can't imagine not having it, but I'm in a wet, hilly area.

If you think you might ever install a FEL later on; get 4WD.

Good choice of tractors!! Yeah, I'm biased....I would talk to your dealer about the 6 foot implements though as your rear wheels will be outside the edge of your blade and your cutter. I think you will be leaving a strip with the cutter if you don't get a 7 footer. What brand implements are they?? I have the International 7 ft rotary cutter and am picking up my Series 30 7 foot Midwest box blade tomorrow morning. Oh, I've got the 4 Wheel drive with the MD 264 FEL 78" bucket. I never used a 4 wheel drive tractor before (much). I don't think I'd go back to 2 wheel now. However, if you don't need it, hey its cheaper that way! Good luck with it (check out those 7 foot tools though). BobG in VA

I never really cared for those package prices. I like to know what I am paying for each item. If it were me, I would have dealer break it down for you. Otherwise, it sounds to me like you are getting a great price. The 6000 wd is around 17 to 18k. You can typically expect to pay about 2k more for 4wd. I think the other suggestion is a good one, go larger or you won't cover your tire tracks.

Thanks for the input, guys. Cutter and disc are Rollins and box is Bush hog, I think. 6' cutter is about a thousand less than the 7' because of larger gearbox. I 'll look into the seven footer anyway.

Do you think this dealer has any room to improve the price?

Or I could drop down to the 4500 4WD for roughly the same price and have better wheel coverage with the six foot implements. But I like the 4 cyl. Ah, decisions!
