Wheel Weights or Filled Tires?

If you fill the tires with something non corrosive you can do it without adding tubes.
I filled my rears 10 years ago with windshield washer fluid. My tires are still tubeless. Have not had any type of problems with the so far.

How many gallons of washer fluid did it take?

I have a DK 35 with r-4's. It took around 84 gal. (42 per rear tire).

Go with Rim Guard. You'll be glad you did. :thumbsup:

Rim Guard (beat juice) worked good for me. Made my small tractor able to take on bigger tasks. You don't need tubes and it won't eat rims. It's not cheap but cheaper than weights. Not all dealers have it.

I called Rim Guard and they gave a list of dealers in my area. The closest is about an 1hr away. I called the dealer and they said it would take about 55 gallons for 17.5L-24 R4 tires. Total cost would be $330. It would add about 588# per wheel. Seems to be the best value by far. I am surprised that more ag tire dealers are not selling it. All local dealers in my area still use calcium chloride.

We use Rim guard, works great and you dont need a cleanup crew and yellow tape when you put a T post through the tire. Beyond the ballast effect it does two things wheel weights cant do. It widens the tire print at the ground and it acts like a dead blow hammer which takes some of the vibration out of the machine.
