When was your house built?

Between 1835 and 1840 for the stone half. Then it burned after the hearth failed and it was rebuilt with chimneys for stoves. The brick half was added in 1896.

2009. We were just finishing in these photos. Vent hood and double oven still had to be installed.

Knot (pun intended) really sure, it is an old and extremely isolated mountain/farm cabin. From talking to some of the oldtimers hereabouts, I would guestimate it, the barn and the tool shed were all built about the same time, maybe 1910's or 1920's. Improvements made, outhouse moved indoors, I suppose this was paid for with the money the original owner made by selling his Mason jars filled with liquid corn.

Beautiful place! Do you own your own company or do side work?

Thanks. I used to have my own company but all the residential work dried up so I joined the union and work on schools and government work. That is about all there is right now around here. I do a little on the side but not to much as I'm getting older all the time
