Just a fun thread which probably won't go anywhere, just before our Fearless Leader does the upgrades he's been threatening for some time. :D

And the title should have read; "Where were YOU when the lights went out... maybe the new upgrade will allow us to edit titles.

No, editing is still there.

You wrote "Well let's find out. New layer of compost in hoop house." and the text is above the image.

But I tried to edit the post to say "yes it works", and all I see is the photo, not the original text above the photo.

I don't see the hoop house image, but once again hat could be the fault of my inept ISP.

One thing this format shows is the top ten posters; I spend WAY too much time here. :D

The title of this thread seems to have inspired by the 1968 Doris Day movie, Where Were You When the Lights Went Out? I think the movie was itself inspired by the North Eastern US blackout of 1965.

Here's my question:
I think there was TV news documentary or dramitization by the same name that preceded the Doris Day film. Does anyone else remember a low budget television production with that title?

I knew that I wouldn't like this new stuff. Old people don't like changes. Besides, I'm computer challenged! Where's those "down thumb" icon....or the laughing emotions......
Cheers,

Muhammad,
Thanks for the upgrades. They are all learnable. But where is the Texas flag, The Lonestar?

Does this forum have instructions for how to post pictures ?

yes I agree removing the tractor line seems like a bad idea, it’s nice to see most folks on this forum are willing to give some idea where they happen to live.

I'm not that happy about losing the 'Tractor:' line below 'Location:'. The reason for this is that it assists members to address an OP's question.

It also helps in spotting a spamming "New Member" who typically list a 200+hp tractor for a 1/4 acre block.

None of the threads have pics anymore. They have all disappeared.
At least in the app I use.

Same here. I was having trouble a couple weeks ago and I updated the app which fixed the problem. Now I’m back to nothing.

Takes time to adjust to anything new but photos are much easier to put on and you have a choice of full size or thumbnail. A lot of guys do not reduce the photo size before posting so it takes too long for my internet to d'load them. I try to aim at 1/2 mB with a max size of 1.5 mB. A lot of pics on here are several mBs and I can't wait for them to d'load as I would be here all day.

I was a lucky obsever of that. Happened to be on the balconey of my apartment at Syracuee University.
That was on a hill above the city. I was looking out over about 10 miles of city lights when in blink they all disappeared. Total dark except for one brilliant spot way over there. Apparently something had a private power supply.

I like the new thumbs up button. New format will get a little getting used to, but in a month we won't even remember what the old one looked like.

Muhammad, thank you for your work in managing this site.

I'd hate to be around the TBN crowd when they buy a new tractor. The gas pedal is different, the light switch has moved, the FEL joystick feels different. Yeah, new tractors must really suck because they are so different from my existing one!

Let's give the new site a chance everyone.

The MOST IMPORTANT positive change is the fact you can now scroll through pictures without going back SO NICE!! The old way was annoying.

Right, If you click a picture in a post with several pictures, it opens full screen over the post. Then you click the arrows or use the arrow keys on your keyboard to scroll through all the pictures in the post.

Use the Backspace key or click the X at the top right to close the pictures and see the post again.

Can someone please explain what the good post score is and why it is included in with your PM and post stat window?

Good Post is a Like button.
I pushed Good Post on your post. Somewhere you'll see that I gave you a Good Post thumbs up.
The Good Post score (I wish it said count, not score, it's not a contest) is the number of thumbs up people have given you.
I used to reply to people with a quote and say "Nice", "Nice job", "I agree", etc., but now I can just push Good Post.

Good post score makes it sound like someone is grading our grammar and it's a contest. If I like a post, I never do the like or such. I don't give a word or two. I use complete sentences to compliment them and usually ask a question.
hugs, Brandi

That's why I was so vocally against a "like" button... if I wanted cheerleaders I would go back to facebook.

On the iPhone each post has a Like button. I do not see a Good Post button.

Two months into the new software, well done, TBN. It has some really convenient features. I log on to find 8 notifications, but check my favorite threads first, to find that now I only have 3 notifications. I already found the others on my own. Pictures are easier. Screens are easier to follow. A couple things are still clunky. I had to do a manual search for this thread because the software wouldn't.

My score: 8.5/10. Good job!

I never even thought about that until you mentioned it. I just started to change it but- nah, after this much time has passed I won’t.
