L model Kubotas typically had a sightglass for reading the trans fluid level. On mine it was at the rear of the differential, to the left of the PTO. Famously hard to read, tractor must be on dead level surface for an accurate reading. Don't know about your specific model though. Not too useful for checking for particles either!
/ Where is the dipstick for the transmission in L355SS
The L345DT (very similar model) has a dipstick on the top of trans. The L355ss doesn't have that dipstick. Taking out the top filler plug gives good access for checking the level and condition of the fluid. If the level is within 4-5" of the top there's plenty.
Edit: see post #6 below for inspecting the hyd oil strainer (with oil drained).

Interesting comment young man.. My rule of thumb is, the fluid level should never be higher than the top edge of the PTO seal. I wasn't aware that any Kubota was without either a sight glass or a dipstick and far as metal shavings in the fluid, only way to surely find out is pull the filter and cut it open and have a look see and/or check the magnet in the filter housing (if it has one). Most Kubota's do.

Thanks 5030 for the "young man" words - I've owned two L345's and one L355ss. The L345's have a dipstick but the L355 doesn't. My L355 did have a removable plug by the clutch pedal for checking level. To my knowledge neither machine has a magnet.
Both L345 and L355 have a fine suction strainer 37300-31270 before the pump - see pdf attached. When the oil is drained the strainer can be taken out for inspection and cleaning.
The L345's full mark is 4" down from the top of the trans - with the add mark 1" lower. The L355 would be similar, about 3" above top of the pto bearing. Take care, Dick B

CORRECTION - my bad, turns out what I thought was a removable plug near the L355ss clutch pedal is actually a discolored and hard-to-see level gauge. The current owner of the machine sent these :
