Which 20kw whole house generator would you recommend and why

I also read were you were going to install a DLM module on your air conditioner but I had seen were this transfer switch has a built in module in the panel to handle the AC. What made you decide to add the module? Once again I have enjoyed reading about your project and seeing the great photos, thanks again!

I have not yet routed the AC thermostat wire to the DLM module (the built in one), but I plan to do so at some point.

I wanted to also connect the electric water heater to the DLM module, which will require me purchasing at DLM relay.

I would recommend an Izuzu 4 cylinder from Hardy Diesel out in California. I bought one of the "14" kw (really a 16 kw) units and am very happy with it. It starts and runs my 5 ton house a/c, 1-1/2 hp well pump and assorted lights, coffee pot, tv etc. The only concesstion I make is to turn off my water heater which is 5500 watts. A really neat feature of the generator end (Italian make MecC-Alte) is that the voltage regulator will take a 100% overload for 10 seconds which sure helps my a/c get started. It also senses the output voltage from a separate excitation winding instead of the actual output winding. Have had to run on it a few times now with one run lasting 8+hours overnight. Sure was nice to have a/c down here in this hot humid Gulf Coast area near Houston. Good luck to all.

There were no "warranty void if removed" seals anywhere, so other than the images I have posted here, should there ever be a warranty issue, how would they be able to tell that someone went inside the unit?
