I heard Jay met up with his dad "DB" & bought several new american market tractors for cash. Jay's dad was a financial entrepeneur of sorts as I recall.

Mutsubishi.

Mine is a MT180D .

I traded a Deere 510 for it. The deere was huge underpowered and always stuck. The MT is super agile and with 4wd never stuck.

The deere could not load the FEL with snowbanks while the MT just eats them up, slower but sure.

I can turn the MT around anywhere in my drive while the deere had to go all the way to the end to turn it around.

Now to be fair the Deere 510 was 2WD, no power steering and had 6ft rear tires and the loader was 7'wide hence could not bite into hard packed snow banks. Every time I wanted to turn I had to use the FEL to jack the frt wheels.
Must add that I'm in hilly terrain so 2WD traction was bad due to the weight on ice and snow.

Hve owned the MT for 10 yrs with minimal problems other than what I caused.
I work it quite hard too.
Has a schwartz FEL with tooth bar and a variety of attachements.
It thinks it is a bobcat what with the number of loads of gravel it has spread and graded.
Sometimes it believes that it is an excavator digging in hardpan with the tooth bar.
Rarely does it move without a full bucket because with 4WD it always scoops it full.
It moves rocks bigger than the bucket can hold because it has the push power.
Only 19HP but grades drives with a 6' back blade blows snow with a 5' blower and pushes snow with it's 6' snow blade.

Needles to say, I'd be lost without my buddy.

James, I purchased a Mitsubishi D-2050 (4 cyl) and recently added a 4' International box blade & 4' International brush cutter to the implement inventory. I haven't really had a chanceto use the brush cutter but I have used the BB quite a bit for driveway grading. It works great with the BB! So far no problems with the tractor very smooth and quiet for a diesel. Haven't had to fix anything but seems to be easy to work on. I am going to DEFINITELY add weight to the front end. I fabricated a 31" front bumper that weighs 63 lbs but is not enough. It seems that most "greys" compacts tend to need front end weight regardless of brand.

Dear daveh1

Well, I don't know if I should even be commenting in this thread since I haven't had any first hand experience with any of these machines, but I think they're all pretty cool in their own way. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif I have an affinity for stuff that's different from what everyone else has. I especially find the older model Hinomotos and Shiburas very intriguing to look at. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

*sigh* Now, if only it were this easy to get a RHD Hilux diesel crew cab over here... /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Mine is a Mitsubishi D1450FD. I bought it because I already had a Satoh 470 Buck. They both share the exact same sheet metal, transmission and most everything else. The Buck engine has a few more CC's and hp. Dad bought the Buck new, it was a US model. It's been such a good tractor, I knew I couldn't go wrong with the grey. Have had the grey now for 10 years and have had no major problems, just a few oil leaks and I have fixed them all. Had to change the air cleaner to be able to get elements. Now uses same as Buck, some Kubotas and who knows what else.

I can only say I wished I had bought a grey! I was researching greys for months and watching tractors on E-Bay. Really read many good things about Yanmars and was planning a trip to a grey dealer about 200 miles from me. Up on E-Bay comes a Ford 1310, close enough to me not to cost a fortune to get home, and I had the misfortune of winning the bid. I will probably spend more trying to get this thing fixed up than I would have spent of a good grey and hopefully I'll get it running before our limited good weather in NW PA is over. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
With any luck, someday I'll sell the Ford and head for the grey dealer.
