Anyone got hay down & dryin?
I knocked down about 50 acres in the last few days.
Here we go! 2022 hay season off & running.

My cousins cut hay last weekend and the next day chopped for silage. Put away about 80 acres and half of that has been sprayed and planted to no till corn. I have a small patch at my residence, just cut today, and was just starting to bloom. I see you have more than your share of yard ornaments ahead of you.

I cut yesterday, praying that the weather holds since I usually need 3 dry days but in Florida afternoon thunderstorms are pretty common.

Cut two weeks ago....pretty slim, not much rain this spring.

Hay is doing poorly or not doing at all - around here. Been too cold. Native/wild grass is doing fine. Open range cattle can not keep up with native grass and its growth. Wildfires could be a real problem this fall.

We got 1"-2" of rain overnight. My hay supplier should have 2nd cut hay mid-June. I just picked up the last of my 2021 hay, will only pick up 100 bales of 2nd cut hay to get me through to next year. Horse quality coastal square bales went from $8 to $10 this year.

Nope, it has been way too wet to cut hay. Looking at the forecast, it will probably be a week or two.

Still waiting. Itching to go. Grass is matured to the point we can probably get it dry in 3 days. That is 3 full days. Just waiting for the forecast to give me those days

Would you believe about 250 years ago, residents of my little town gathered up on this hill to watch the oppressive British regiments engage with the Continental Army in the Revolutionary War in The Battle of the Brandywine?
