If I never see Joe Namath pitch his stupid medicare advantage "helpline" again it will be too soon.

Yes, Yes, I know Dec 8th is coming soon, and the worst of this will be over, but geez, do you have to run the same inane commercial about the "medicare advantage helpline" over and over every 15 minutes or less?

I assume this same stupid commercial is running in markets nationwide.

I'm with you. It really gets me when he talks about..."even free meals". I also have been thinking about calling and asking.."are you a federal agency?" because my bet is many people think this is some sort of official US agency as opposed to some insurance company sales pitch.

I'm with you. He must be talking about something he sees on that old fashioned "television set."

Of course I've heard of Broadway Joe but he's not crossed my mind for many years. This must mean he's still around and selling something.

It says in very small print on the screen (if you have a high definition TV ) That this is not a government agency. Of course their purpose is to make people think that they are doing you a favor to "see if you qualify" for the "benefits you deserve". They are skating that very thin line of truth and advertising hype. The "help line" is just an insurance company trying to sell you a product. But many won't see them for what they are and what they are doing.

I have sold Medicare insurance for some time now, and I consider these types of pitches as very marginal from an ethical point of view, at best. "Medicare coverage helpline" indeed.
At least when I try to sell folks a Medicare product, i tell them I am trying to sell them something and I will get paid for it if they buy it. And disguising your company name as "the medicare help line" is pretty disingenuous.

Kind of like Bruce Jenner ruining Wheaties for me now.

Bruce may have ruined Wheaties but "Mary Lou knows what the big boys want"- also Wheaties.

I have Medicare - I called the "Medicare Help line". It's a line alright - a line of BS. A BIG line of BS.

They are really riding the line on false advertising.
