I have been doing some reading on trailering a BX25TLB. It seems that the perfect trailer is about a 16' car type trailer.
That is fine, but its not going to work for me. I currently own a 5X10 Landscape trailer. I love it. Its the prefect size for me.

BUT IT DON'T DUMP!

AND I HAVE UNLOADED IT AT THE DUMP FOR THE LAST TIME! ....Yes, I am getting old, fat, and lazy.

Nor will it haul my BX

What I need:

What I need is the smallest possible dump trailer, that will accommodate my BX25 and the new F150 I bought to pull it.

What I will use it for:

I own several properties in my local area. It will be pretty rare that I will actually need to haul the BX to them, but will need to nonetheless. Some of our rental have big yards, and I am done trying to mow the with a push mower. So the trailer needs to accommodate a future MMM. I also need to do landscape projects such as french drains and such where I haul the BX, dig a trench and self import material.
We also tend to Buy properties on occasion that need cleaning up and tractor work. - Hence my needs.

I know that a 7X14 would probably be the best choices of trailer, but the guy at the trailer place said not to buy that big of a trailer with the F150 and I tend to agree with him. Not only that, but those trailers takes up a lot of real estate. Its simply to big for my needs.

I have seen a few folks that use a 10' dump trailer. The owners seems to be ok with it, but it seems like the Internet rally's against them citing safety concerns. To be honest, I am considering a 6X10 with 10,000 axles, but wondering if a 6X12 would be the smarter choice?

6x10 will work. Loader out over the front an backhoe swung to the side. But if you can justify the cost for the extra 2' not only for the Kubota but for more material hauling capacity that would be the way to go an would be my choice.

We have a 12 foot and a 14 foot dump trailer. The 12 foot will fit my BX24, but I have to put the BH to the side. I don't like to do that, prefer the BH to be pinned in place when I'm towing. 14 footer, the loader sits flat on the deck with the BH pinned straight back. MUCH better setup.

In my opinion this is what you need.

PJ Trailers - 83" Low Pro Dump (DL)

14 foot, low sides that the BX will be able to dump material over...

4300 lb. empty, BX will be around 2600 with the BH for a total weight of 7K give or take. I think the new F150 will be fine. It's available in a gooseneck too. My new dump trailer will be the 16 foot version of this in a GN.

It's there a reason why you can't own more then one trailer besides cost of registration and space for both trailers? And why can't you tow a 16 footer with f150? If I can afford it,I'd have a 6 or 8 footer dump and 16 landscape. This way the landscape is used for bx only mowing, transporting and dump small as possible for more capacity instead of length taking away how much you can tow with 150 Ford

It's primarily due to space and need. I don't have the space (or the want) to store more than 1 trailer. I also don't need a trailer(s) everyday. Heck, my trailer sits unused a lot. Worth its weight in gold when used, but still not used a whole lot. Therefore, I want something that will suffice most of my needs. Recapping: Smallest dump trailer possible, will haul bx, and light material handing.

Thank you for your advice. I looked at this exact trailer over the weekend. Its bigger than it looks!!

Just my opinion... and I have a lot of them, if the 5x10 works for you in capacity and moving the tractor why go bigger !

If it works don't fix it !

Also, IMHO, as narrow as possible would be my choice.

I would need at minimum of a 6' wide, not sure how my Max 28 would fit 10' in length but somewhere around that would be best.

I would get the smallest trailer I could fit the tractor on, get the dump and get a little heavier load capacity.

A new F150 with max tow will pull more than 12k lbs. Do yourself a favor and get at least a 14' dump trailer, you won't be sorry. I purchased a new BX25 and Sure Trac 14' dump trailer last fall and they complement each other very well. While the trailer is rated at 14k lbs, that doesn't mean you need to load it that heavy. Ps. Don't forget to get a grapple for the BX, you can quickly load the trailer, haul to the dump, and put a big smile on your face when you push the button on the wireless remote and watch everything shoot out the back of the trailer. You won't be sorry.

Hey Neighbor, i have the same set up and needs as you... BX25D and F150. Want a small dump trailer that will haul my tractor if necessary but more often to haul a few yards of whatever for easy dumping. I am getting old and lazy like you I guess. That Sure Trac 14' sure looks pretty. Thanks to Johnkn for posting. Will have to research that one. Honestly one of the big reasons not to pull the trigger is my bro in laws. They will think my BX is a free rental.

I've got a BX23 and a 5x10 dump.... it will work in a pinch.

Most of the time I use the car trailer for the tractor... also have a PJ18 for the Deere 110...

At least trailers a cheap to license here...

John, how much does the trailer weigh? I would not want to be pulling around a 5000 pound trailer if I could avoid it. It would also be difficult to move around with BX 25 tractor, as I have a hitch welded to my FEL.

Ahh, sounds like you have a F150 4x2 with 3.55 gears and 5.0 motor. Good deal on the grapple, absolutely makes the BX25, doesn't it?

I was in the same situation as you. I have a 12' landscape trailer as well that would take me 45 minutes to load with brush and stuff to take to the landfill, but it would take 2x as long to unload because all the branches get hooked together. At ago 59, I finally took the easy (smart) way out and got the dump trailer. I can load the trailer using the BX and grapple very quickly, and there is no better feeling to simply push a wireless remote button and watch everything painlessly come rolling out of the trailer. Good luck with what ever you end up with...

I wanted the best dump trailer I could find and settled on Sure Trac. I initially thought I wanted a 12' but am 1000% happy I got the 14'. Mine is 14' x 82" and ~ 3600 lbs empty. 14k GVW. I upgraded to the best tarp kit, spare tire, solar charger, wireless remote, and scissor lift.

Thanks for posting this info. Did your trailer come with ramps? I am not seeing that as a standard option in my quick review.

/ Who owns BX25 + Dump trailer? #16
Yes sir, HD ramps are standard. If you look at the last video link I posted, at the 9:00 minute mark it shows them, what they look like, how they mount and how they are stowed.

Cool... thanks again. I guess I only watched the first of the two videos you posted. I liked the second one. Now I am jealous. What made you choose the scissor hoist vs. the standard option?

/ Who owns BX25 + Dump trailer? #18
I think the scissor is more robust and better suited for heavy loads.

We had a dump trailer at the shop and it was very easy to load it so it would not tip... it was not a scissor.

Well I got a N&N galvanized dump trailer. I put the BX in it. Little bit of a tight fit but got no issues towing it with my old 1/2 ton truck. The trailer is 10'X6' with a brake on each wheel. It dumps via one large cylinder centre of the dump up front like the dump trucks have. It's only power up and gravity down so it's easier on the charging system and the battery. It came with a 25' wired remote but I also added a wireless remote so I can change the angle of the dump while loading odd items. It also has a two way tail gate which works great. The trailer was built in Quebec, Canada and has been a great addition to the fleet. I'd never buy a powder coated trailer for around our area. Everyone I've ever seen started to peel off the first year so that's why I went with the gavalinized.
Yes a 14'-16' trailer would be nice but I didn't want to put myself in the hole buying a $50-$80.000 truck to pull it around. I only use the trailer to pull the BX maybe twice a year but it do work great.

I would want a 14 ft . Why ? When you use the 3 point hitch with a brush hog ,the extra room will be needed .
