I have seen pictures where they used graders to plow insects to the side of the road and spread sand to make them a little less slippery.

Mormon crickets cause plenty of accidents here, crossing the highways by the billions. It's best described as driving on thick grease. The State just puts up "Slick Road" signs and calls it good:

They are starting to hatch right now but at this stage they are tiny. By the end of April they'll be an inch long and starting to migrate, seeking anything green to eat. By June they are close to 3" long and they don't start dying off until September and sometimes October.

These things are not just in Nevada. They are also thick in Idaho and Utah. The name "Mormon crickets" comes from the hordes that devastated crops for Mormon settlers in Utah back in the mid-1800s.

I’m getting one of those “Rabbaconda” (spelling?) tire changer things… looks fairly straight forward… let us know how yours works.

Took my son to the Badlands today... He finally realized why almost everyone rides ATVs and SxS. Riding a dirt bike in those conditions is physically taxing. He loved it though, even his crashes.
