Added the YZ125 to my stable so this old man can keep up with the grandsons on the single tracks.

Very nice! That thing looks FRESH.

We found a couple 10 year old, clean MX bikes this winter and did a little work on them to rip on this year. Glad I did after seeing my son crash about 10x yesterday 😂

It seems I'm going the wrong way. I sold 2 of my 3 last weekend. I'm strongly contemplating selling the KTM... I haven't had much time to ride in the last couple of years and don't foresee much time in the next 2 years.

Sold these two.

I'll be losing my membership in this thread sometime this year... Before I was officially WFH I used to go to "the office" about once a month, and would typically ride my K1200GT the 180mi each way (I'd stay the night over, ride down one day, back the next). With covid the company acknowledged that WFH actually works and I became openly WFH (it was always an open secret in my group), and I've been back to "the office" once in the past 6 years... and now I very occasionally ride into town for a quick shopping trip if it fits in the bags.

It's not nearly enough to keep fresh skills, so I'm going to let the bike go. I was nervous last time I rode, so I know it's the right thing :/
Just still coming to grips with it

My wife had that exact same Kawi, before she bought an R3. The R3 is a little less comfortable, more cafe bike... But has EFI, and ABS... It's just more refined.

I love those small displacement bikes

Also, we did get the Ninjette for my wife to learn on and ride. She took a motorcycle safety course and rode a little. But ultimately decided she preferred being a passenger. She was just too nervous.

I figure in a few years I'll get a new body style Goldwing so we can both be comfortable. It's a little much having both of us on the big adventure bike. It's so tall it ends up being exhausting for me with the extra weight up so high, and the seat is small and pegs are up so high that it's uncomfortable for her. On long rides of course. Around town is fine, but I like traveling and exploring the country. I like to take a week and ride 3,000-4,000 miles.

I find most large adventure bikes make for an excellent solo long distance tourer. But like you say adding a passenger's weight up high can make them difficult to maneuver at low speed. I now have a Goldwing and find it to be very easy to handle with a passenger due to the low COG and having "walk mode" both forward and reverse.
I seldom carry a passenger anymore, and when I do it's just short day rides. But it also makes a wonderful solo tourer. Mine doesn't have the trunk which I don't want or need anyway. For longer trips I just strap my camping gear on the rear rack along with a small bag on the passenger seat.
