WOW,
FOUND THIS SITE LAST NIGHT AND I THINK I'M ALREADY ADDICTED.

ANYWAY.

CRAZY THING HAPPENED THIS WEEKEND. AFTER BASICALLY WINDOW SHOPPING FOR TRACTORS FOR 2 YEARS, MY WIFE SAYS TO ME "WE NEED A TRACTOR". DESPITE HAVING TROUBLE HOLDING BACK THE TEARS I HELD MY COMPOSURE AND TURNED AND RAN TO THE TRUCK TO GO TRACTOR SHOPPING(AGAIN). I DON'T THINK I EVEN RESPONDED TO HER, JUST RAN.

WELL, I NEED SOME INFO ON BRANSON. I'VE LOOKED AT ALL THE BRANDS AND I CAN'T SEEM TO FIND A BETTER TRACTOR FOR THE PRICE, BUT WITH BRANSON BEING NEW(TO ME) I'M A BIT APPREHENSIVE ABOUT BUYING A NON BIG NAME TRACTOR. ANY INFO YOU GUYS COULD GIVE ME TO EASE MY MIND WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. I'M LOOKING AT THE 2810/2820 FOR BASIC FARM MAINTENANCE. I HAVE TEN ACRES AND ABOUT FIVE IS IN THE PROCESS OF BEING CLEARED FOR HORSE PASTURES. I'M CONFUSEDLY(?) EXCITED.

THANKS.
BOO

BOO,

I know you're excited (and you should be!), but there's no need to SHOUT (all caps). /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

The Branson/Century (Kukje) twins are building a good reputaion. If they will do what you want, I think they are a great value. Read all the posts in this Zetor/etc. forum and you'll have a good head start on your decision.

And if you click on the My Home link at the top of the page, you can fill in your profile (cuz we like to know). /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

BOO,

Here is a Branson dealer in Oregon with some pretty aggressive pricing. I don't know where you are, but it's a least a price to shoot for in your area.

Boo,
Congratulations on getting the approval from the CFO. Take your time and enjoy the ride. I checked the Branson, Century, as well as all the others. I think they are all basically good tractors. I was almost ready to buy Branson as well when I found Kioti. Be sure to take a look at them. Have fun and let us know when and what you buy.

Boo, I think the Branson is a lot of value for the money. You should be able to get more capability for the dollar, compared to the other brands and maybe not as many bells and whistles. (you can spend savings on implements). If you just have to have that cup holder, forget it. Having said that though, when you tell people you bought a Branson, they will say "a what ?" You basically have the 10 series, and 20 series tractor sizes (30 to come out later) ....with different engine options, and sizes/capabilities of loaders/backhoes. You might want to consider looking at the 3510, which is same size as 2810, but bigger motor....for probably not a lot more money. The other issue you will have, is that the dealer network is not that well established. A good dealer is important, unless you are a good tractor mechanic. My brother has a 3510, and is the one that corrupted me into changing from champaign and caviar dreams (JD), to beer budget Branson. I have a 4020 and I'm happy with it. It is very stable on hilly ground. I plan on keeping it around a long time. I have been clearing a wooded area for a future barn, and am utterly amazed at the work you can get done. I just wish I'd had this 20 yrs ago. I think this will be the best money I have spent in awhile.

TRACTORS....mmmmmmm.....gooood..... /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
Boo, I recently bought a 2810 and have only put about 6 hours on it so far so you can take my comments for what I charge you for them. I think its a lot of tractor and am not worried about longevity or price. Perhaps I've kidded myself but I have to think that service will be able to be done by myself or most any tractor dealer and parts will probably be available pretty readily since it appears the commitment to our market is there and since so many brands/models share parts (Branson, Century, now Zetor). Here my plus minus list.
Plus, value, size, not another me too tractor (I always seem to fall for the unusual). Minus, not a lot of dealers to choose from, wish its seat moved back further so I had more leg room, wished I could get hydro tranny in it (with dual pedals like the Long or JD thank you but not at that price), wish the 3 pt valve had the type of 1/4 inching that Kubota now has as I find it hard to fine adjust and/or go to the same height twice in a row. No real annoying nits in my use so far other than the rinky dink combined rotary light, blinker, horn button (my horn has never worked not that I ever needed it). I would have preferred a more robust separated arrangement. In the winter it can completely freeze up if moisture gets in there (the ones on the lot when I shopped were all frozen up).

Here are a few links for Century tractors. Rivera's Tractor. This is a dealer in Texas with nice information about Century tractors. Century's homepage is Century tractor. Century is Bransons twin brother. In my area the Century dealer was willing to work with me more on prices then the Branson dealer and the Century offered the C-50HL loader.

I have a Century 3045 and love it. It is the 48 hp model and comes with a Yanmar 4TNE-88 motor, which is the same engine John Deere puts in their 48 hp CUT.

I have had two minor warrenty issues and both times the dealer has made things right with me and fixed the problems.

Have fun narrowing down your choices and keep us informed.!
