Will the L3054DT work like the L3000DT bota?

I'm just wondering if the L3054 will work as well as a L3000DT. This will be my last tractor (i'm 25, so old /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif ) so resale is not a concern for me. The price on the other hand is the concern. I'm looking at a L3054 with a Kioti loader and a 72" First choice finish mower. I have 11 acres with 4 acres that has just been planted in pines. 3 others are mature hardwoods with atv trails through them. a 1/2 acre pond and the rest is going to be finish mowed. Think the L3054 is up to the task? Thanks for helping me out. PS. I'm UPGRADING from a BX22 /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Right off, I notice the Kub is 27.5hp at PTO and the Kioti is 23. The Kub is 8F/2R tranny and Kioti is 8x8 synchro shuttle.

So, if loader work is priority, Kioti sounds nicer. If pulling the biggest brush hog is, you might like the Kub better.

Make sure to check the minimum PTO hp for the finish mower. Don't know the difference in loader capacities, but that may make a difference.

Check Tractor Hill's prices - he gave me the best around (he's east of Charlottesville.) With the savings, you may be able to move up to the DK35.

Thanks for the reply. I need to go check out the Kioti website and compare the info more I guess. I'm not sure of the loader specs either. I hate these big decisions... I saw a post on here a while ago where a guy was hauling logs he cut with the 3054. That looks like more then I'll ever do around here. I may pull one or two logs off a trail once every couple of months. 4.5 hp at the PTO doesn't seem like much but I know some implements state they require 25 pto hp or more. Thanks again. Chris

I believe the lift capacity on the loaders for both tractors is around 850#.
Both will run a 5' brush hog or a 6' finish mower with no problem.
The Kioti has sycro tranny,the Kubota 3000 does not.
The Kioti has the shuttle foward/reverser the 3000 does not.
Both have live PTO with dual stage clutch.
Either machine should work OK.

The BX22 loader has handled everything I threw at it and it was rated for less then #500. One thing I do have a question about and I can't find it on any kioti site. Is the ROPS foldable or is that an option. I think the ROPS on the L3000DT is fixed.

The Kioti website for the 3054 lists foldable ROPS as standard equipment.
Also it listed the KL128 loader for the 3054 lift capacity as 940#.

here is a shot of my lk3054 with a load of logs that it had no trouble with. by the way I also pull a 6 foot brush hog that will whack down 3 inch trees, also with no problem.

I have just over 30 hours on my new 3054 and love it. I will be using mine with a 72" finish mower as well after the seed I planted germinates. I have used a 5' bush hog with no trouble, a 6' shouldbe fine as well. I moved over 60 yards of dirt with the FEL and it does great. Yesterday I even used the FEL to liftthe back of my explorer to rotate my tires front to back. I didn't have 2 jacks until I looked at the tractor anddecided what the heck. NOTE: Make sure you have alot of wieght on the back of the tractor, I had 900 pounds of water in a tank on the 3pt hitch. No wieght and tractor tires do comeoff the ground. For the loader work the shuttle shift is a must, the synchro is also really nice.

Wow, that was the picure I was making reference too in an earlier post.

There sure are a lot of uses for the FEL. Make sure you put something under the explorer incase the hydros give out!! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif It looks like the 3054 will be my chioice. Chris
