Wix filter instead of JD filter

I am about to chnage my hydraulic/trans fluid and filter. JD wants $84 just for the filter by itself. O'rielly Auto Parts has the Wix brand filter for it for $10.84

It was only 10-20% higher for the JD OEM filter, I would not think twice, but to be 800% higher makes me think twice. Has anyone else been using Wix filter for trans ? Any issues or concerns with Wix filters ?

Im running a Wix on my 4400 hydro. No issues for two years. Check the Wix specs for you filter and confirm the micron size meets your requirement.

What tractor are you working on? I would also be curious to if the filter specs are the same. $84 seems high for a hyd filter $10 seems a tad too cheap for a hyd filter. Maybe not for a lube filter though.

I know I paid about $40 for the last hydraulic filter for my 2320.. BUT someone found out that JD now listed a much cheaper filter for the same job..

In my experience the JD filters have similarly priced with other mfg filters (and somethimes even cheaper).. So something tells me that that $84 filter has something more going on for it than the $11 filter..

Also how did you get a cross ref number for that filter? I tried to find a cross for mine.. the OEM was a donaldson and that JD number would not even cross reference on the donaldson website

Wix makes filters for alot of MFRs , and is equal speced to others..They made some NAPA...I have used their diesel fuel filters for years. My autos only get orig. filters.
