Wrap around handle Stihl models

I am beginning to shop for a new saw. I prefer Pro models as I tend to keep them a loooong time. I was on the Stihl site and as I picked through the possibles I noticed ALL of the West Coast handled (wrap around handled) models were marked "NOT AVAILABLE". Any reason for that?

I am ambidexterous and like to swith hand positions on occasion, but don't want to run a saw "cow-handed". I may wait for the new 70+cc fuel injected model to arrive in USA.

Not sure why the regional availabily on the Stihl website, but I wanted a wrap handle also and my local dealer said he can get them no problem. They don't stock them in our area but I was told if Stihl makes it he can get it (Euro exclusions apply).

Really? I actually just started saving my pennies and my guy said he can't even order then. My current course of action is to have my dad grab the power head and ship it to me.

Both my large & small Stihl have wrap around handles. Purchased from local JD dealership.

I haven't ordered mine yet, still in the looking stages, but I spoke to to the dealer at my tractor store as well as my local Rural King which carries Stihl. This was not long before the virus outbreak and I was told I could get them ordered. Wouldn't think the distance between GA. and MI. would make that much difference. Hopefully they weren't just telling me what I wanted to hear in order to make a sale.

Well, it is called a "West Coast" wrap around. But, the site I was shopping was the official Stihl USA site. I may just get the power head and order the handle as a part. My Ventrac dealership carries Stihl, I was on phone with the boss yesterday and did not even ask. If west coast dealers can get them, but not for us Mid USA folk, then I may order from west coast dealer.

Just get the half and then order a wrap. Guy in NC just did that on a 462.
