Recently my alternator went out on my 2016 tractor. Appears to be internally grounded. (Drained a battery and starts smelling then actually smoking as soon as a new battery is connected, before starting.)
Part number is 40266110. It is a 70amp. I'm having trouble sourcing a replacement at a reasonable cost.
Searching for part numbers online yields tons of alternators, none that have the proper oval female connector. It looks like the new part number might be 40332676, I found 2 sources for that online, but running about $400. Seems steep for a little 70amp alternator!
I did contact my dealer but they are slow to respond and may have changed ownership, also not physically nearby. I'm wondering if connections could be modified to fit any other model alternator.
Any ideas on how I should proceed would be welcome!
