Y385 won't stay running

Hi All
Got an old Y385 in a wood chipper that won't stay running .
Hadn't run it in a few years and it needed a hose replaced from injector primer to fuel filter .
So hose replaced , am able to get fuel to injectors {after bleeding}
I'm able to get fuel out of bleeder on top of fuel filter when pumping primer plunger .
So I can crank it over and it will catch but only run at a few rpms above idle with throttle wide open .
It will run till the fuel in the fuel filter gets half down then it stalls .
So it seems that the fuel pump isn't refilling filter {I do add fuel to it b4 cranking it over}
Does that mean that the primer pump is bad ? {is that also the fuel pump ?}
B4 I go go down the rabbit hole of parts chasing anyone have any ideas ?
It seems I can get a new primer pump OR a whole new injector pump or is it the injectors ?
Any ideas ?

When you say "fuel filter" do you mean the spin-on filter canister, or the glass sediment bowl? A sediment bowl will have a very fine screen in the top that acts like a primary fuel filter. Check it for diesel bugs.
The lift pump has a nylon screen in the suction side banjo fitting - check it for diesel bugs too.
Since it starts and runs until the visible(?) fuel is depleted, that suggests that the injectors, barrel and plungers, and lift pump are operating correctly. You must understand that there is no mechanical connection between the throttle linkage and the fuel injection pump. It sounds to me like you have a sticking rack.

Edit: If there is a sediment bowl attached to the fuel tank there could be an in-tank screen attached to it (most of them came that way). There is a possibility that this in-tank screen is plugged and starving the lift pump (the manual priming pump is integral with the lift pump and uses the same check valves).

It Just has the spin on filter , what is the sticking rack ? How , can I unstick it if possible ?
Will check banjo fitting for clogged screen Yea I fill thru bleed on spin on , crack injectors till fuel shows
button up and she'll run till fuel drops in filter but with no rpms .

There is an upper side cover on the pump assembly. Remove the cover to expose the fuel reservoir and control rack. Be careful of the gasket. The control rack is attached to the governor, NOT the throttle linkage, so be careful.
