Yanmar AF28 Tranmission question

Hi guys,

I have a Yanmar AF28, which was a grey import into Australia. I'm keen to change the transmission fluid and filter but have two problems: I can't locate the dipstick/fluid window or the filler point.

This tractor runs an external transmission filter, so that will be easy to change. And drain plug is in an obvious position, but the filler and level indicator are a mystery.

Any tips??

I believe your fill point in on top of the 3 point rock shaft housing right behind the seat. I would suspect their would be a dipstick somewhere on the back, probably down lower. Or possibly a sight glass back there.

The YM186 had the fill port there also, on top of the rockshaft.
And that model had the dipstick on top of the left rear axle housing.
Maybe yours is there also.

The AF Series has been sold outside the Japan market in other countries. So, it's not as gray market as one would think. Later today, I'll look to see if the manual I have is in Japanese or Portuguese.

Wondering if this is where the fill point is. Looks as though a hydraulic hose has been fitted where perhaps the fill point was. Any suggestions?

Yes, that is the fill point. Tractor likely plumbed with power beyond and fill point is now being used as a tank return.

You can see the original cap on top of the adapter fitting
