I have a YM2000 grey (the pea green model) and have some questions about remote hydraulics. I have a Bush hog FEL QT 1846. I understand I can use the power beyond port from the FEL control valve to setup my remotes. I have searched and read many post but have a few unanswered questions.

1. Do I have to change the fitting in the picture to activate the power beyond feature? I spoke with a guy at Bush Hog who was very vague on how to hook this up.

2. Will a standard log splitter open center valve work with this setup?

3. Where do I connect the return line?

4. When the lines are not being used, do I need to hook them to each other to form a loop?
I will also post this in the Hydraulic group.
Thanks, Chris

Usually, on a new valve, there is a plug in the PB port. You will need the PB sleeve, to make the valve Power Beyond. The purpose of the sleeve is to block off the fluid to the return port. After you run a hose to the back for the remote valve, you will need a return hose to tank. The fluid has to go through the last valve, and from there to tank. The extra loop hose to connect the work ports, is a safe guard in case you flip the levers on by accident. In the static state, the fluid goes through the valve uninterrupted. You will need a detent motor spool valve if that is a hyd driven bush hog. The bush-hog hyd motor should have a relief valve across the motor, in case the QD's pop off, or not connected correctly

This is going to power a wood splitter and maybe a few more implements. I am having problems locating the PB sleeve for the Bush Hog FEL. On the return line, can I use a T at the return where the FEL connects to the main tractor return?

Possibly, but answer this first-How many hoses do you have connected to the valve...6 or 7?

2. Will a standard log splitter open center valve work with this setup?

Most likely-but need answer to #1 to verify...

3. Where do I connect the return line?

You can Tee into the existing return line from the loader valve.

4. When the lines are not being used, do I need to hook them to each other to form a loop?

Yes-absolutely.

Just to expand a little...IF you have seven hoses on your FEL valve now-then there is already a PB sleeve in the valve. This line problem connects to the rear tranny and feeds the 3PH. You would take a hose from the PB port to the IN port of the new valve, then the PB port of the new valve back to the tranny to feed the 3PH. The OUT of the new valve can be Tee'd to the OUT of the existing valve.

For a logsplitter, you would just "plug" it in series with the PB line (using QD's) after the new valve...

Thanks for the info. I am almost to the point of buying a pto pump.

Why couldn't he use the out off the loader valve into the new valve (or PB quick connects at the rear) , as long as he wasn't using the loader at the same time?

If that would work it would be great. I don't intend on using the loader while splitting. So I would just put a quick connect at the return line and when I connect the wood splitter I break the QD and run one side to the splitter valve and then from the valve to the other side of the QD?
