I just wanted to share this experience from yesterday.

I finally decided to pull the trigger on buying the dual remote rear valve kit for my Yanmar LX. I did call around to various dealers, each one could get me the kit but each dealer was about an hour away. My actual purchasing dealer was two hours away, and it was really not convenient to make a special road trip to fetch the parts.

So I called my purchasing dealer and asked them if they could ship me the parts. The dealer would have had to order the parts anyway, so the dealer called Yanmar in Georgia to see if they would be willing to ship me the parts directly. Note, this is not standard operating procedure for dealer commodity items like rear remote kits. Sure enough, Yanmar was willing to make an exception and ship me the rear remotes kit directly. I should have the remotes kit in about a week.

Thank you Yanmar!

I have an LX410, and thinking about adding it to mine. What was the cost of the kit, and how was the install ?

Thanks.

The parts are still en-route, cost for the kit was $1165. I purchased the kit from money I inherited from my father, he was never good with money and most assuredly would approve of this purchase. :D

My current plan is to remove the right-rear wheel and do the work from that side. I think everything should be in easy reach once that wheel is out of the way. I heard the instructions say to disassemble the operator station and go in from the top, I'll know more when I get the kit. If I remove the wheel, I plan to secure it and slide it off/on with the help of a 2 ton engine crane.

I ordered some plow springs today. Same thing, But I have to pay $40.00 shipping for three four inch springs! Ouch! At least I don't have to drive to the dealer.

Too many dealers have gotten too big, especially the ones around here where one has gotten together with four or five more! The BS while on Hold assures that SERVICE is just the greatest thing, but it's often NOT! Anything not in their SOPs, and your are usually SOL! No possible thought or room for individual needs or attention

SMALL is BETTER!

I was quoted $1200 for a dual set ( 4 connections ) from my local dealer, so that's pretty much in line. They are supposed to get back to me with a quote on labor to install if I decide not to do it myself. Guy told me they had a "real time" with the first one they put on, but now had it down fairly pat. He DID say they take the whole fender/seat assembly off to get to the connection ports in the top of the transmission housing.....so I'd be really curious if you manage to get to it from the wheel well.

Please do report back on your install !

Thanks......

I bought remotes for our JD and put them on myself. As I did the front aux circuit on the loader.

I am sure I did a far nicer job then some kid at a dealership! Making sure hoses ran parallel with nice loops and the tie raps cut off flush, not leaving behind those flesh cutting knives!

Got this email from my local dealer this morning:

The price on the rear remote kit which includes 2 sets of remotes is $1090, this includes a 10% discount. The cost for us to install this on your tractor would be $210. We do not have one in stock so we would need to order it. Let me know.

I installed the dual rear remotes as well as the front aux hydraulics myself. Looks a bit intimidating when you open the box, but follow the instructions closely and you will knock it out. A few questions marks came up with the instructions, some "WTH?" But you eventually figure it out. I was told the rear remotes and front hydraulics were supposed to originally be installed by dealers.....but seems they may be changing their stance.
I took the right rear wheel off, thank God before I had em loaded. I did not take the seat and fuel tank off, way too much work for me......you will have to do some pretzel maneuvers with sockets and extensions, but it can be done.

Good luck and have fun with it!

Oh, I plan to have fun...and take lots of pics! :) Thanks for tips! Yeah, my tires are loaded so that's the most unnerving part about this, but I think the shop crane and some extra eyes and ears will help keep this safe and manageable.

The invoice from my dealer came in the mail today. I'm not surprised I'm paying more than TnAndy would be, up here in the NorthEast it seems everything is more expensive. The parts should get here any day now. I am planning to install the kit the weekend of March 15th, barring any forecasts for plow-able snow. I hope the weather warms up, attached is the temps we've been waking up to around here. My garage is neither insulated nor heated. Brrr!

FYI, the part number on my invoice is: YAN REAR2RVD-LX

Once I get the kit installed, I have a top-and-tilt kit on order from Brian that shouldn't be too far behind. :D
