For Clarification-I wanted a tractor and had been looking for some time. Saw a nice one by the side of the road; called the phone number; got info and worked out a deal with the seller (Hank's Discount Tractors -Parker, Colorado). Hank delivered to my home. Not the tractor I looked at by the road. This one is 2 cyc not 3; however, is 4 wheel drive, had new tires (look great) and the tractor is bright red and looks real nice. I take it and it's mine. While Hank is at my house, he notices an old Chevy Blazer in my drive way and says he can give me $100-$150 for it. I say I want $150. Fine he wants it. He takes the Blazer and I go to get a title at the court house. Meanwhile I have a right front FLAT tire on my "new (reconditioned) tractor". I take the tire to the gas station and the mechanic (whom I have used for years) says the tire has a tube which has been repaired 3 times. Also the bead is broken and he is not sure if his patch will hold cuz the tire may spin on the wheel. I call Hank and he says the tires are not part of the reconditioned deal. I go to get my $150 and take Hank the title. He says he is only giving me $100. I get really PO'd, snatch the $100, and leave slamming the door. He later calls and says he has reconsidered and will give me another $50 and a tire off another of his tractors. I tell him to take his $50 and tire and put them where the sun don't shine. Once you cross me, dupe me or make me PO'd, I no longer deal with you. So I haven't heard from or talked to Hank since.
The drive shaft saga: THe drive shaft broke the 1st time I put the tractor in 4 wheel drive to move snow. When I took the drive shaft cover off, I discovered that all the parts were not there. I got a diagram from Fredrick's out of Alabama and found that I needed snap rings, spacers, ball bearings and a rubber boot. I obtained these parts from Fredrick's. I had to fix the output shaft on the transfer case as it was boggered up and would not accept the ball bearings. There was no lubrication either. After repairing the output shaft and assembling with all the proper needed parts it seems to be working fine now.
The Bulldog loader joystick saga: When I stated that the joystick fell off in my hand, the entire control assembly came off. The snap rings had fallen off
of the control valve bolt which held the assembly together. There is a stationary part of the assembly that had a broken weld and this allowed the entire thing to collaspe off. I need the bolt and snap ring assembly because the bolts are stripped and the snap ring area is worn out and will not hold the snap rings in place. I would like to get replacement parts before I go off and try to find another way. I going to try to attach pictures of this assembly area so you can see what I am referring to. You can see the welded area at the top right hand part of the assembly.
Hope this clarifies the support issue that was raised earlier. I appreciate this site and have learned a lot. For example the reversing of tires which I was told by Hank was a good idea for safety reasons turns out to NOT be a good idea because of pressure on the spindles. Hopefully other who have their tires reversed will think about turning them back the way they should be.
