ym2210 and ym2500 at auction

I bought a couple of yanmars at an auction today and would like some input from your wealth of knowledge please....

I will only be keeping one of these tractors for personal use which is to pull trailers around my place and front end loader work about once a week. My questions are as follows:

Obviously the 2500 is larger and would probably handle the front end loader better, but the 2210 is much cleaner....needs nothing except the loader...the 2500 neeeds some minor mostly cosmetic stuff to get in tip top shape....so much more work for me to get the 2500 up to speed so to speak. So my problem is the 2 cyl vs the 3 cyl larger from tractor for my loader and the extra work I will have to do to get the larger unit up to my specs cosmetically speaking.

What are your thoughts on the size issues in handling a loader.....
What loader would you recommend.....

I paid 2000 for the 2500 and 2300 for the 2210....I like the 2210 but it is a two cylinder.....

The 2500 unit will give you the extra HP that a loader would like. The 3 cyl. engines are really smooth and run well. (I have a YM2620D)

I have a Bush Hog FEL(model #2245 QT) that has worked well. I have put it through some hard work here on my farm. It has held up well. Parts, if needed, are easy to get from most local tractor dealers.

Your price that you paid for the units, sounds fair. The touch up work that is needed on the tractor should be looked at as "quality fun repair work." Enjoy.

You totally lost me there; however, size and # of cylinders won't make as much difference as having power shift for using a loader. I, personally would never put a loader on a 2wd tractor, although guys do it and claim it's acceptable.

The powershift trans on the 2210 is what u want if u r to put a loader on. Either tractor will do what u want. I have a loader on 2210 2 wheel drive. It does alot of work. 4wd would be better.

I want to welcome you also and second that about the powershift. I just love it in my tiny 1510D. All tractors should have the powershift trany. Therefore, I vote for the 2210.

The 2500 will pull a bigger plow. But the 2210 will out bush hog the 2500.the 2210 has the best motor that Yanmar made.

Thanks guys for your input....I really like the 2210....it's super clean and runs great....only problem is a low rpm it sounds kinda like a poppin johnny....

3 cyl 2500 runs like a sowing machine at any rpm.....

Whats the problem with sounding like a Johnny popper? That is what is called the Yammer Hammer! I love it myself. You get more torque with the 2 cylinders......also.
