I'm thinking about buying a ym2210 tractor with a front end loader...This is for you guys that don't have 4wheel drive... Do you ever regret not having 4wheel drive??

Im just not sure if I need it or not.. Yes it would be great, but Im trying to save a buck..

Let me know what you think..

Thanks
Brad

I have a YM2000G with no fel, but can say that I'm thankful for 4wd pretty much every time I use the tractor. Climbing up slopes in the slippery clay for one. And I can pull the tiller a little better in 4wd too. Pulled my truck out of some slop just this past week, and couldn't have without it.

Before purchasing, I thought I was giving myself a luxery, but that isn't so. It is absolutely essential on my property.

I also think you will hear from others that it is extremely helpful, if not a must, with the fel.

I try not to use my 4wd unless I really really have to. I can tell you there is such a big difference on how much I can load my box blade and how I pull my discs with it on.

I'm very glad I have it and for the price difference I think it's worth it unless all you plan on doing is mowing...........

I have a 2210D. My 4WD just quite working last week and I immediately started to fix it because with out 4WD for me, it just isn't much of a useful tractor. I think if you start with a 2WD model and never experience the ability of 4WD, you may be okay because that's all you've ever known. The 2210D is not a heavy tractor and the rear wheels will easily slip hence the desire for 4WD in almost any situation except mowing. Of course this is always dependent on soil conditions. regards

Thanks for the post guys.. I have a feeling that 4wheel drive is going to be worth the money.. I sure would hate to buy one of these package deals, spend good money and it not perform like you want..

Thanks guys, your helping me on my decision....

We sell a fair number of 2210s with 80 loaders. Mostly landscapers, etc who intend to mostly move light materials, pull a mower, etc. Some homeowners. All have seemed happy. For hill work, or work in muck, or lots of loader work, you will benefit from 4wd; in fact for hill work with a loader it is probably essential. Those who buy the 2wd with the slightly smaller loader save $1,000-$1,200 and have reduced maintenance. Depends on what you need.

Whatever you look at, wherever you look....get REFERENCES, and some at least a year or more old. Don't wait until you have a problem to find out how your seller handles problems.

If it has a Bulldog loader, you may want to do a search for past threads.

The phrase "Package Deals" can be a red flag that indicates tractors and equipment that have been, allegedly reconditioned, refurbished or overhauled. Many of these deals include a box blade, rotary cutter and a trailer with the tractor. If the tractor is reported to be newer than it's original manufactured date OR there are zero to one hundred hours on the new hour meter, than this bargain can be a very risky and, most certainly, misrepresented bargain.

Camo - My land has a a lot of sand - If I did not get the 4WD, I would have been wasting my money.
