ZD1511 blowing white smoke on a hillside at times : Help

Engine has blew excessive white smoke out exhaust 4 different times 5-10 seconds while mowing crossways on a hillside / bank with left side of deck downhill.

ZD1511 has around 170hrs on it.
I bought it new.
I can’t duplicate this concern.
it wasn’t in regen when this happened & runs fine.
it smells like engine oil smoke but crankcase isn’t over-filled.

Anybody else experienced this ?

White smoke usually means one of a few things...a new pope is one...! another is water in the fuel...it could be coming from a separator etc. when the angle is right...

I kindly doubt it’s water in fuel.
I run 3 tractors from same 550gal tank with no issues at all.

im just unsure at this point

What’s your fuel level? This happens on my ZD 331 when it’s low of fuel. It’s getting air in the system

Fuel level would be 1/2 to 3/4 full in both tanks.

the last time this happened during the smoking I heard a light clattering from engine : like valve clatter or spark knock in a gas burner from poor fuel.
Engine rpm also dropped ….. idk weird.

When it's tilted too much it is overfilled on the lowside. When engine oil is too deep it burns it off. It will do it in trucks too. Typical.

This is what I suspected too.
crankcase isn't overfilled.

Well IF my ZD511 isn’t making oil (from DPF Tier4 BS) I DID overfill it with engine oil.

book says 6.8qts

It’s was 3/4” over the full mark although I’ve Checked it numerous times since I changed it back in the spring.

I drained both oil plugs, did not remove filter & poured 4.6qts in & it’s on full mark.

Little oil filter won’t hold 2.2qts so I’m thinking operators manual is wrong …. As my KTM 950SE AND F350 6.7L was also wrong
