Stihl’s BGA 85 Battery Operated Handheld Blower

VIRGINIA BEACH , Va. – STIHL has expanded its groundbreaking, STIHL Lithium-Ion battery-powered system to include handheld blowers with the new BGA 85. With the innovative lithium-ion battery technology, the BGA 85 provides another eco-conscious STIHL product to help reduce your overall impact on the environment.

The new BGA-85

The BGA 85 eliminates fuel costs and engine emissions, and it also runs quieter than its gasoline-powered equivalents, making it ideal for noise-sensitive areas. The handheld blower is great for homeowners and professionals alike, and with zero exhaust emissions, it is ideal for hospitals, greenhouses, greens roofs and urban environments.

As compared to its gasoline-powered equivalent, this commercial grade blower features reduced vibration for improved operator comfort and starts instantly by simply pulling the trigger. The powerful, 36-volt STIHL Lithium-Ion battery delivers excellent blowing performance at 102 mph at the nozzle, and the high-torque, electric motor results in longer motor life.

“The BGA 85 offers another way to reduce impact on the environment while providing the optimal performance for blowing tasks,” said Marv Mathwig, product manager for STIHL Inc. “This blower can be used everywhere from quick cleaning around the yard to noise-sensitive areas like hospitals and schools. This is a welcome addition to any professional application. ”

The STIHL BGA 85 is part of a full line of lithium-ion products from STIHL . The line includes the HSA 65 hedge trimmer, the FSA 65 and FSA 85 grass trimmers and the MSA 160 C-BQ chain saw. The STIHL BGA 85 is available fall 2011.
