I’ve been a member for 6 months. I joined when looking to upgrade from L&G tractor to SCUT. I used Google search to find reviews and opinions. TBN was the most used.

John Deere Model 1026R SCUT

1993

How often do you use your tractor?
Multiple times per week, except during winter (only for snow removal as required).

Tell us about your property.
Approximately 3 acres in exurban northern Twin Cities, Minnesota area. I have a homestead with pole building (65’ x 30’ x 14’).

Do you have any pets?
Two pure-bred Labrador Retrievers; female—Honey & Lucy; bird-hunt trained, family pets.

What sort of modifications or customization have you done to your tractor?
Just got it in June 2013. I have MMM drive-over JD 60D, JD H120 FEL. Just received JD 54” snowblower last weekend (now assembling). Have JD 52” rotary broom & front thatcher left over from previous L&G tractor to retrofit. Still need rear PTO tiller and winter cab.

What sort of tools, attachments or equipment do you use with your tractor on a regular basis?
Most hours are for mulching grass & leaves, then snowblowing, then FEL work for landscaping.

Do you maintain crops?
Yes, as a hobby I harvest sweet corn, raspberries, broccoli, brussels sprouts, tomatoes, lettuce, spinach, potatoes, flowers, pumpkins, watermelons, horseradish, hot peppers, sweet peppers.

Do you keep livestock?
Yes, chickens. I have an outdoor coop & run with 6 variety of chickens for eggs & meat.

What do you like or dislike about the area you live in?
Road maintenance & access has been neglected during the past 10 years of state budget cuts without corresponding non-essential services cuts.

What sort of terrain is common in your area?
Glacial till, sand with some peat loam.

What sort of trees and vegetation are common in your area?
Red oak, bur oak, red pine, poplar, birch, red cedar, white spruce, red maple, sugar maple, silver maple, basswood.

What’s something most TractorByNet members don’t know about you?
I have advanced forestry college class background, industrial lubrication training & expertise, and am a long-time mechanical engineer.

What are some of your other hobbies? Hunting, fishing, and camping.
