How long have you been a member of TBN? How did you find the site?
I joined 9/7/2000 but I was a lurker before then.  I was reading TBN when the site name included the name of a certain tractor brand.

What do you like best about TractorByNet.com?
The “TBN Brain Trust” always has good advice for problems.  What’s sometimes scary, is I often go to TBN to ask a question, and find out the question has just been asked and the answers are already on the boards.

What type of tractors do you own?
I own a JD 4700 and a DR mower (if you count the mower).

How long have you owned or operated tractors?
I have had the JD for 11 years now, but I was running a tractor when I was 15.

What do you enjoy most about tractors?
They sure do a huge amount of work in a short time!

How often do you use your tractor?
Maybe 50-75 hours a year.  The first couple of years it was 200 hours or so per year, but then the house was built, the kids got older, work became even crazier, so the chore list builds up while the number of tractor hours declines.

Tell us about your property.
We have about 45 acres, the house, and what we call the barn.  The barn is a shed backed up against the “box”off of a U Haul truck.  It was cheap, fast to acquire/build, and temporary. It has been temporary for six years. Someday a proper barn will get built…

Tell us about your vehicles.
I have a 2002 Ford F350 SRW 7.3 TD crew cab with a six-speed manual transmission and 4×4.  They do not build ’em like this truck anymore and that is the sad truth.

What do you mainly use your tractor for?
Road work, pulling/digging stumps, mowing, moving logs, and splitting firewood.

What sort of tools, attachments or equipment do you use with your tractor on a regular basis?
– 4 in1 Bucket
– Rotary Cutter
– Backhoe
– Pallet Forks
– Box Blade
– Hydraulic wood splitter.

I should have bought the pallet forks with the tractor.  They really do a great job moving logs.  We have French doors in the house.  I can use the forks to off-load a heavy load from the truck, open up the French doors, and set the load down INSIDE the house. That is so nice!  🙂

What do you like/dislike about the area you live in?
People from out of state, usually from urban areas, moving in and trying to make our area as bad as the area they left.  So many people in my area are nice and friendly.  Then there are the few that really are the bad apples that make life miserable for everyone else.

What sort of terrain, trees and vegetation is common in your area?
We have slightly hilly terrain and hardwoods & pines in our area.

What’s something most TractorByNet members don’t know about you?
I have two jobs, one in the IT world and one completely unrelated.
