Looking for some info on keeping my JD going and zero turn advise.
Inherited my Dad’s late 1950s John Deere 430 farm tractor. Noticed the oil was way above the Full line on the dipstick (dipstick attached to a cap on the starboard side of the engine that you removed to add oil). Drained oil and replaced filter. I added 4 quarts and found that the oil level was just above the Full line. The manual states that the engine takes 5 quarts. Can anyone tell me what I should do?
Please check out our John Deere forum, plenty of helpful folks on there who may have encountered similar or even identical problems in the past and could help you out!
Thanks in advance
