Mahindra Supports Retreat For Wounded Vets

MAH_WarriorWeekendOFHHOUSTON, TX (October 14, 2014) – Mahindra USA is committed to partnering with Operation Finally Home on all aspects of recovery and transition for the wounded veterans receiving homes from the organization. Beyond sponsoring new homes for these wounded heroes and their families, Mahindra supports Warrior Weekend, weekend retreats offered through Operation Finally Home to assist with the healing process by building friendships between people with shared experiences.

Wounded heroes receiving custom-built homes through Mahindra and Operation Finally Home gather for a weekend of bonding and relaxing on a ranch in Texas. The group has the opportunity to share experiences as they fish, ride horses or watch football. The weekend is unstructured to encourage relationships to develop organically in a stress-free environment. These weekends provide more than temporary reprieve, they build a network of support and friendships that continue as these veterans return home.

“Our support doesn’t end when these heroes have their new homes; we want Operation Finally Home families to know that we care and are here for them throughout the transition back to civilian life,” said Cleo Franklin, Mahindra USA’s Vice President of Marketing and Strategic Planning. “This is another way we can put Mahindra’s Rise philosophy into action by driving positive change in the communities where we work and live. There is strong symmetry between the values of Operation Finally Home and the Rise philosophy guiding Mahindra’s corporate social responsibility.”

“Operation Finally Home and the families we represent truly appreciate Mahindra’s support of our projects, including Warrior Weekend, as it speaks to how our organization’s focus is not only on the home but also on strengthening and building the family,” said Rusty Carroll, Executive Director of Operation Finally Home. “Each year Mahindra’s commitment to our organization grows and they become more involved in our mission.”
